    You count them all in Texas. With doing more western hunting than anything lately, I tend to "read the room" depending on who I am talking to. But for the most part for Whitetails its an 8, 9, 10, etc. Mule deer a 3x4, 4x4, and so on.

    It may not be available this year. The San Rafael- Mounds Reef area bordered the San Rafael North Cleveland to the southwest. It was a rifle hunt both times.

    I've done San Raf North Cleveland and Mounds Reef. Fun enough hunts. I mixed the first one with some fly fishing in the mountains above Ferron and Huntington. The second trip I swung through Arizona and scouted my elk unit.

    I would stay further north just to save yourself some time. But if you do go down to White Sands, swing by the Three Rivers Petroglyph site, eat lunch in Capitan and if it’s of interest drive a few more miles for some Wild West history (Billy the Kid, etc) in Lincoln.

    Spartan Precision bipod and if you want to use a tripod get their Davros head for attaching to your existing tripod. Then your tripod and bipod are interchangeable.
