I got to handle a few at the Dallas Safari Club event in January. They were gorgeous, felt like quality and reasonably light. I fell in love, but the budget hates the idea.
I got the Roughtech 6.5 PRC and it balances very well even with the 24" barrel and a suppressor. The barrel profile and flutes are nicely done.
The only change I would make is to have a cerakoted version.
Fill a 5 gallon bucket 1/2 way with water. Drop enough birdseed (lots of sunflower seed) to cover the surface. Dollop of peanut butter on top. Use scrap board to build a ramp to the top of the bucket.
Mouse will jump in.
In North Texas, there are not a lot of magnum cartridges on the shelves. Maybe, I will see (1-2) 7RM or 300WM load available on the shelves.
Based upon what is on the shelves we buy a lot of 270.
Tikka's are factory rifles that work fantastic.
Consequently, they are a great platform to build a semi custom rifle off of. People aren't making modifications because they do not work.
They are upgrading/customizing the rifles. There is nothing "wrong" with my rifle. It feeds great. The...
I took my 20" 280AI out to test my new Garmin chrono today.
To test how must velocity I was leaving on the table, I shot a few rounds of Hornady Prevision Hunter @62g. The box said the velocity was 2850 in their 24" test barrel. I got 2710.
I was getting just under 3000fps with the 145 LRX...
I have a 9mm can. Their customer service & documentation is prettty weak. If they had proper documentation, I would have been able to tell that I had the wrong booster in the box a lot quicker.
Life is too short to deal with them again.
I would like a slightly thinner recoil pad to reduce LOP on my 6.5 PRC. The recoil doesn't bother me, but I feel life I control it better when my LOP is closer to 13".
I had my 24" barrel cut to 20" because I wanted to use my suppressor.
Using the same box of factor ammo using the 140g Nosler BT. I lost 100fps.
I am glad I went with the 20" barrel.
