Idk if others would get the same value out of it, but I’d be interested in a short Friday podcast on the various 6mm flavors.
I have an extra standard tikka bolt face, varget and h4350 which leans 6gt or creed but the arc is pretty compelling too because of cheaper 108 eld-m...
I’d called UM the other day about a 6arc tikka and they made it sound like you had to get a .223 bolt opened up rather than bushing a .308 bolt?
The suggestion was a 6 dasher or 6gt from whoever I talked to.
Any idea who else to call or who to chat with at UM to figure that out?
Any idea on realistic velocities from an 18” or 20” barrel?
At $1.30ish per round it is tempting to get 2-3 cases of factory hornady ammo and then just reload that brass with some 109s afterwards.
Biggest hang up is that I don’t have any of the powders people seem to like for the arc. And if...
I am also a fan of the 3 blade cutthroats for flight and ease of sharpening. I got great penetration with a full pass through on a long frontal last year. Sample size of 1 elk but I’m happy with them.
I have also tested their durability into dirt, trees, metal table legs, etc as I learn to...
The part with the ID needing the current info was exactly the problem.
My ID showed up though so now it's a matter of someone in West Texas actually answering the phone... 🤣
I don't know if it's a TX thing but my understanding is if your ID doesn't have your current address then a sale is a no-go? It could have changed but I know that was the case years ago at a bass pro in TX right after I'd moved.
I also forgot how great customer service is here. Odessa Academy...
What powders are you guys loading the 6arc with 108/109 ELD-Ms? Would the 6 arc be suited to 112 matchburners or 115 DTACs also? Anyone using Staball Match?
I have a lot of 6.5cm components to use up still, but am interested in a 6 arc also... If I can get 2700-2750fps out of an 18-19"...
Thanks.
Do you recommend this whole string with each rifle? Or if I can get steps 1-5 done with the .223 would I be able to zero the 6.5cm via step 1 then jump to step 5 as some of the other steps seem to be skills based rather than equipment based and I assume there's some carry over?
Anyone going to brownfield? I live about 40 min from that match.
Have never been to one but would like to attend and do the skills division. Would be great to shoot with someone who’s done a match in the past.
Are the prices in store only? What cartridges still available?
Looking at online pickup for that store it shows $799 still? My TX drivers license should show up soon.
Have too many different types of 6.5mm bullets so looking to consolidate a bit rather than having ~500 of multiple bullets.
Would trade these for 130 TMKs or 143 ELD-x.
The bergers are $0.61 each on Powder Valley, 130 TMKs and 143 ELD-x are $0.43-0.45 each on PV so I'd like to trade 549 of...
I have 10-12 nights on the neo air x lite nxt max since mid July.
Comfy, but it leaks air so so I’m almost on the ground after 8 hours.
Cascade designs/ therm-a-rest is a pain to get ahold of so it doesn’t seem like it’s going to be replaced before my next trip unfortunately.
I haven’t tried...
10-4. This is a significant improvement over my 3-5 round zeros of a few years ago (with a scope from a brand that was beloved to the local Wisconsin community lol)
Would you do 20 rds from each? Or 30 from the stable position then 10 build/break off a pack? Or just burn 60 and do 30 from...
10-4.
So that’s kind of my question I guess. I can probably shoot a “better group” by staying prone and shooting from a bipod or cinder block with a pint size game changer lite up front and a rear bag, and minimizing how many times I build the position. But if I’m not using that stuff in...
As a follow up: I overlaid groups 2-6 (post adjustment) onto a single sheet once I got home. Right at 2 3/16" for 28 shots.
Not as pretty as some peoples groups, but for myself shooting <1k rounds per year I think this is probably reasonable and reflects my level of competency more than a...
