What do you feel are the pros of leap frogging?
I never quite understood it. I certainly understand if you’re trying to get the meat to a cool, shaded spot so it will last longer.
But if that is not happening with every load, why would you want to mess with unloading and loading constantly...
The mummy shaped ones fit without scrunching. I have the largest size of Xtherm and it fits.
I’ve also considered getting a 5” RV foam mattress and cutting it to form.
Get a subscription to Chris Roe’s Elk Hunting Institute and work through that.
Once you feel a bit more comfortable, get ElkNut app and go through that. ElkNut covers a lot of the basics too, but I think Chris Roe does it a little better. (Paul I know you’re on here and still love you lol). I...
Colorado.
I did finally find a MVUM file. It’s like 400mb so will be curious to see how it runs. In the past, GE didn’t like having a lot of large files/layers.
I still really prefer GE over the many different hunting apps I have for desktop eScouting. I used to always use those TopRut unit maps to get the USFS Roads and Trails as well as public land layers. Those appear to be gone…they just link you to OnX.
I tried finding the USFS MVUM KMZ directly...
Most frequent answer are going to be Kifaru and EXO. I’ve tried both (as well as Mystery Ranch and KUIU) and highly prefer my EXO K4.
Sounds like you’re just getting started so I’m assuming your gear is probably not super dialed in so you’ll want to opt for the larger size in whatever pack you...
If it is the dealer I contacted a while ago, they’re going to add like $3-4k is bullshit to the price…lifetime tint, paint protection, etc. Non-optional.
Just to update in case anyone else has a similar decision, I ended up buying a fully loaded 2021 P4X with 12,000 miles. I elected to sell my Tundra privately instead of trading.
The Titan interior is very nice in that trim level. Nice screen, sound system, and comfy cooled and heated seats...
I work out four days a week (used to be 5 but reduced days and increased mileage this year), and the days I’m not working out I’m shooting my bow.
In the car to and from work, I’m listening to podcasts are other elk related content like Chris Roe or ElkNut.
When I’m winding down at the end...
Plenty of individuals hate him enough that we don’t need to immediately jump to conspiracy and civil war.
We don’t need to be manifesting a civil war. None of our problems in the US are worth killing each other over.
Only worn a few times in town. 10/10 condition. Got into a pants buying spree last summer and found I just prefer my trusty Hardscrabbles.
Hip vents
Internal belt
Hem seal to keep your pants pulled down and debris out of your boots
$55 shipped.
I similarly have tons of these and have worn them to work daily for 8-9 years. Given that amount of wear, they’ve held up well, but I have had to make several repairs (usually buttons).
I’ve started mixing in the Wrangler pants everyone talks about here. They’ve held up better so far and I...
I really like my Ghar jacket, but none of their other products have really tempted me enough to change what I already have.
I’m not a brand fan boy. Just buy whatever fits my needs best. My pants are all SKRE, shirts mostly Sitka (though my Patagonia Capilene in camo is my favorite and first...
I went through this exercise and decided to stay with the 2010 Tundra. I just don’t trust any of the new vehicles enough to drop $45-55k, and then be out of warranty in three years for some $50 sensor to go out that needs $2k in labor.
