Lol Nah I'm drinking Forms Kool aid because I have had issues in the past of animals making it quite a ways before they die. This particular elk was near a boundary and I didn't want to deal with drama.

Soooo I’m thinking about .243- few questions

Get a superlite and send it to Chad at lri for a diet. I.e. wildcat stock, sheep port, bolt fluting etc. Some guys on here have done it and gotten tikkas down to nearly 5 lbs flat.

6.5 creed got broken in... 180 yds 2500ish fps impact vel 140 ELDM 2710 MV Put three bullets in and she dropped within seven seconds of the first shot. Damage was astounding. Spotting the impacts was a breeze!! I'm sold! PTL!

Lots of guys are doing bolt swaps on here. Swap to a reg boltface and go 6.5 or 6 CM ... Oooorrr if your feeling fancy get a .223 bolt and open it to accept 6 ARC.
