For the ranges you list, it’s pretty hard to beat the plain ol’ Hornady 129gr Interlock. I’ve shot several critters with them out of a .260 and they leave a silver dollar sized exit with good destruction on the internals.

Don’t dismiss the Tract spotters. I don’t have one of their 65mm, but do have their 80mm and it is superb. Would absolutely be willing to try one of their 65mm versions.

I have the Sinclair runout gage and use it every single loading session. Minimal runout may not make a load shoot any better, I don’t know, but it sure won’t make it shoot any worse…

A lot of folks go with 8” twist in hopes of slowing bullet RPM enough to avoid bullet blow up. The cost is a little less stability resulting in a little less BC. I don‘t have any regrets on going with 7” twist, but my barrels have a low round count and the throats are still in pretty good...
Both of my current .22 GT barrels are 7” twist Bartlein 5Rs with a .218” bore. I went with 7” twist because I wanted to ensure stability with 88gr ELDs. A bunch of folks go with a .219” bore because in flight bullet failures seem to happen less with the .219” bore, but so far, I’ve had no...
Shot a small whitetail doe this evening at 413 yards with a 77gr TMK launched at 2978 fps from my .22GT. Mild load. Impact velocity should have been about 2125 fps. Double lung shot. Bullet hit a rib on the way in and on exit. Damage to lungs was substantial. External exit wound in the hide...

The barrel on my hunting rig is 19 3/8” and pushes 88gr ELD-Ms to 2914fps with 35.6gr H4350. Not a mild load, but not a hot load either. Bonus is that it put five shots in .131”, shown in earlier post.

Just texted Jon Beanland and asked if he’s doing Tikka pre-fits. He says he has a program for them. His work is the best I’ve ever seen so it would certainly be worth giving him a call.
Here’s a video of the runout in the last chamber he cut for me.

I’ve been out in the pasture standing amongst my cows and had deer not even notice me, like I was part of the herd. Have also looked in direction the same cattle were looking and noticed they were looking at a coyote, sometimes surprisingly far away. They have much better vision than most would...
When I ordered my Holt Collier Special, I ordered two identical additional ones for Christmas gifts for my son and son-in-law. Couldn’t post that here ‘til now, lest they find out prior to Christmas. Now that they have them, here’s the pics. Extremely pleased with how they turned out. Super...
