You wont regret any of the upgrades. I went from Diamondback 10x42 to the B1 10x42 this year, night and day difference. Clarity, low light, are all huge upgrades!
I got a pair and used them in unseasonably warm Idaho late October. Maybe it's my build or my gait, but both I and my hunting partner weren't fans of how "loud" they were. The cut is also a bit more baggy than I'd prefer. I'll most likely be posting them up
You've most likely got one of two issues going on with all the pads that you've been using.
1) you are super unlucky and are putting holes in all of your mats your first use out. Are you ensuring the ground is clear of sharp rocks, sticks, etc? Is your tent floor clean?
2) Most likely, you are...
So long as you are aware of the ground it goes on and keep your dog/cat away you should have no problems. If you do ever get a puncture, repair is pretty quick and simple both in the field or in our office if you have time to send it in. No cost other than the shipping of the mat to us, we cover...
Cot is great to get off the ground, but you still need some form of inflatable air mattress on top for the r-value and additional comfort/padding. Without it, you'll be cold. That time of year, I'd look to have something with an r-value of ~5.0 or greater which would be in the 4-season range.
Couple options depending on what you are after - SynMat UL/HL for the ultralight side or the SynMat XP 7 for the more durable general backpacking. UL/HL will get you a 20D fabric while the regular SynMat uses a 75D. You are looking of r-value at 2.9 vs 4.8 with these specific mats. All the ones...
IMO opinion you are looking at two separate mats then. One for camp and one for the pack. The EXPED MegaMat or DeepSleep (budget option) will be the two front runners for in camp. If you don't need ultralight, but still want a packable mat with a 4 season R-value, look at the SynMat XP 7. 4.8...
Are you backapcking or base camp?
For backpacking, EXPED makes MW (72x26") and LW (78x26") mats. I'd suggest a 9cm for the extra comfort and thickness (~3.5"). Check out the SynMat XP 9 or SynMat UL/HL Winter versions. We also do a DownMat XP 9 for maximum r-value.
If you need something for...
Check out either the SynMat UL/HL Winter series if you want 20D UL fabrics or the SynMat XP 9 for 75D fabric. Both will give you winter worthy R-values and come in LW (long wide) 78x26" sizes. They are 9cm thick, so roughly 3.5" also.
We do a MW (medium wide) mat that is 26" wide and 72" long, we also do the same width in our LW (long wide) which comes out at 78x26". You'll get a 5.0 or greater R-Value in the Synmat UL/HL Winter or DownMat UL/HL Winter mats and at less than 35oz...
We did remove the internal pump model in favor o the XP, which includes the Schnozzel Pumpbag instead. Quicker inflation and the pumpbag also doubles as a dry bag if you want.
Okay, sounds like a failed baffle then. I can assure if you send them in we will get you taken care of. This was fixed in production 3-4yrs ago and we have had no issues since. Happy hunting

Real sorry to hear about the issues on two pieces on what sounds like a single trip. I'd urge you to get in touch with Customer Service ([email protected]) and have them sent in for repair and warranty evaluation. We will get you taken care of. Depending on what you mean by "popped" (leaking...
Figured I'd jump in and introduce myself. I'm Nick, I'm the US Sales Coordinator for EXPED. Actually met one of my good friends and hunting partners when I was working in Customer Service. He experienced a failed baffle on an elk trip and we got him taken care of with a new mat upon his return...
Great choice in mats! Just to add a little extra, for anyone that is looking at their EN rating on their sleeping bag, the EN test is done with a mat that has a 4.8 r-value. The SynMat XP 7 has a 4.8 r-value (y)
Take everyones advice and make sure you are getting a good 3rd party certified (ASTM rated) sleeping mat. It will be a big help in being sure that your entire system works together. A quality mat, a quality sleeping bag, and a good tent go a long ways and last a long time also. Buy once, cry once.
