    It has been a few years since I have stayed or eaten in Alpine, but I have used the Sportsmans Lodge and Bear Wallow Café several times each in the past, and both were rather average but suitable. Just typical aging small town establishments. No offense intended, if the owners are watching!

    If you are hunting mule deer, focus on the lower elevations. If you gain too much elevation, you will start to see mostly Coues. I have not been out kicking around the desert lately, but I have heard the rut is picking up steam. Just get out there and glass!

    I use Miller's regularly for deer and elk, but I don't generally do any kind of sausages or sticks from deer or elk. But yeah, Miller's is great, and Mark is an excellent taxidermist.

    Accubond tip deformation.

    In addition to deformed tips, is it possible the bullets are also being driven farther into the cases, shortening OAL and possibly affecting accuracy on follow-up shots? Not likely I'd guess...just a thought that crossed my mind.
