Chuck Adams hit 200 Pope and Young animals in 2020. He has since gotten more.
People are criticizing the way he takes trophy photos on this thread, which I think is comical.
He is one of the last hunters I'd make negative comments about for finding the angles to make his kills look the best he...
I've never tried this. But I have had a good number of young bucks just walk over to me when they can't figure out what I am, often when I'm boning out another antelope.
Yeah, but Idaho told over a dozen NR they had ram tags when they didn't not too long ago.
I wouldn't include them on the list for accurate results....they are in same boat as Montana for incompetence.
Timely? Yes, usually. Accurate? No.
I'd rather have them later rather than thinking I drew a...
Great.
And I do think it's ok for people to scrutinize and give honest answers to someone seeking to find the furthest he can shoot an elk as a brand new hunter.
I never said I don't consider it hunting.
I actually don't think the question is dumb. I think the fact that as soon as a bunch people said, "slow down bud, shooting that far isn't a good idea on your first live animal," it was dumb that he countered by saying he shoots a .223 and rings steel...
Probably because people don't like the idea of brand new hunters gut shooting elk at 700 yards.
I think there are some valid reasons for the responses.
Plenty of people wound elk. When the question is "how far away can I be" from a brand new hunter it stirs a little up in people.
You'd be better at researching and figuring how to get closer to elk rather than the absolute maximum distance you can kill one.
I suggest dropping the pride on the shooting stuff and listening to what people are saying. Steel is different than fur. People get dialed in on steel and three...
I have a Double Bull that's about two decades old and like it.
Weight wasn't a concern then so it is pretty heavy. Good in wind though, so there's a trade-off.
