I've hunted that area and there are a decent number of mule deer around, have seen some pictures of good bucks but I have never personally seen anything huge. Unit 22 is better known for mule deer hunting but it's CO and there's good bucks in almost every unit. 2000 acres of low pressure private...
Saw Vortex released a new strike eagle in 5-25x56 in FFP today - has anyone had a chance to check it out or put some rounds down range with one?

No, they pushed the seasons later into peak rut dates so more mature bucks will be killed in the next few years. 2nd season is basically over the historical 3rd season dates, 3rd over 4th and now 4th is 18th - 22nd of Nov. I believe this is the new norm for the next 5 years.
Did you do any comparison to the Nikon Laserforce or other bino/rangefinder combos at a similar price point? Love the concept of simplifying # of items in the field but really want them in 12's as you mentioned in the article.
That’s likely what I’ll be doing, appreciate the insight. Would like to go into 2021 with a point in each and for $56, way better than the $1500 I’d be spending on NR bull, cow, and muley tags.
Looking into this further - looks like if I want to apply for the regular draw I would end up paying NR prices, where if I wait for the secondary draw and try to pick up leftover tags for both elk and muley's I would pay resident prices due to meeting the 6 month threshold. Is that correct...
Well that's a ball buster... I thought it was 6 months prior to the season, not application. Time to rethink the strategy here. Thanks for the comments!
Hi All - New to the forum and relatively new to western hunting. I moved to CO in November and trying to get all my stuff together before the application deadline. Does anyone have history with units that have gone from OTC to draw units and the number of points they required to draw the first...
