The Walmart Wrangler pants are hands down the best bang for your buck. They're better and cheaper, than my Kuiu or Firstlite pants. I've worn them in 40C to -40C weather.
The Wrangler Sport shirt is pretty damn nice for the money and perfect when you want long sleeves in the summer.

I don't know what criticizing influencers and hunting celebrities had to do with banning guns or 2A. Not everything is a government plot. When you jump in a leopard cage and a leopard eats your face, don't go around complaining that a leopard ate your face. If "hunters" keep...
Buddy, well call a spade a spade, "hunting" by blowing up animals, is plain f'n wrong.
I think you missed the part where I mentioned that FILMING IT and posting it online is what is making it us look bad. No one cared about spear bear hunting until Josh Bowmar filmed his hunt and aired/posted...
I spend about 200-300 bucks a season on bait and will do 3 trips prior to the season opening and bait every time I'm out hunting. I run two 55 gal drums which usually allows me to wait until the next weekend. I live 2.5 hours away so it's a commitment for sure but worth it when you get to watch...
I've packed a barrel to my bait site before I had ATV access to it. Just do several trips, don't over do it otherwise you start making mistakes/getting hurt.
I use a mix of oats, cheap dog food and used frying oil. I buy a crap ton of juice crystals to start a bait and spread that crap all...
I highly recommend going to a good bow shop with good staff and considering joining an archery club.
I'm the president of my local Rod, Gun and Archery club and any time I get to the range when the old guys are shooting, I learn something new. It's great if you can take the chirping and chirp...
My 180" is a 3x4. It's also pretty hard to judge a big bodied deer in the rut with a thick winter coat. Those antlers can look a lot smaller than they actually are, but at the end of the day, a 180" deer is hard to miss.
DIY literally stands for "Do it yourself". So a DIY hunt would be where you DIY'd the hunting part yourself, without help.
Whether you Uber'd, drove, chartered a plane or rode your pet turtle to the spot is irrelevant IMO. You still did the hunting and planning yourself? It's DIY.
I think that if hunters are to "survive", we need to be critical of the turds show hosts, influencers and general hunters. The Matt Busbice, Josh Bowmars and Tim Wells of this world are encouraging hunters to do dumb sh*t and they are 100% encouraging anti-hunters to hate us more.
Blowing up...
I live in prime mule deer country that doesn't get hunted much and I have seen quite a few 200 inch bucks. I think people over estimate deer size. I have a 200 inch non-typ mule deer that my wife shot hanging next to a 180 inch deer I've killed.
A 180 inch mule deer is pretty freaking big and...
Depends if you intend on being active or mostly for sitting.
Anyway, when it comes to real cold, it's hard to beat wool. I've ditched a lot of my "high speed" gear and have gone back to using either an old wool sweater my grandpa used to wear, or an old Canadian Army wool shirt. The later was...
What? You quoted my comment twice but I don't think you understood it once.
I believe predator control, to protect property and livestock, any time of day is fine. That includes when it's dark outside. If a coyote is attacking your livestock, shoot it. The coyote is doing what is natural for it...
Don't force it, things will happen if they happen. I have a 5 and 9 year old. My oldest had only been on a couple hunts when she was much younger. This year we committed more time to big game hunting but I waited for her to be ready. If she didn't feel like going one day, we didn't go. We went a...
I see a difference between predator control and hunting.
I support measures to protect livestock any time of day, but strongly oppose night time hunting. That's the one time of day these animals get a break from us. Hunting at night with thermal sights is small PP energy...
If there's any doubt, I wouldn't take any chances. Sucks about the meat, but such is life.
Thanks for the temp alarm reminder... I really need to get one!
