Everybody who said I'll just have to be more patient was right - the trackiing re-appeared this morning - day 7 since the last scan. Now it's 110 miles closer, at my local facility.
Yesterday the sender went to his post office to see if he could talk to a person instead of a recording. As...
Interesting point - True, but the "contract requirement" could just as easily be settled in reverse order. I always send payment first, but only because it seems to be an accepted convention.
I get it - if you send the good before getting paid, you risk losing the good and never seeing your...
I much appreciate everybody's delay stories - it does give me a little comfort it happens more than I thought but usually turns out good in the end. I have never had a problem like this before; I figured it was as good as lost or stolen by now.
Looks like everyone agrees that sender is liable. Which seems at odds with the almost universally accepted protocol to get paid before shipping a good.
Billy Goat - "Maybe I'm ignorant to the way insurance works with shipping, I have never intended to need to show any proof of item value, I did that when I purchased the additional insurance when it was shipped."
I hope you are right. I have never used the insurance; I just assumed they would...
It is starting to look as if a rifle on its way to me is lost. Tracking just says "In Transit" for six days now and it's last scan was only 200 miles from me.
The seller and I are quite friendly about it all and we'll probably land on a compromise - neither of us wants the other to get...
What do you mean by this? If I sold a rifle and a buyer challenged the sale, you're saying he would get his money back from PP? If there is no money in my account, where would they get the money to refund him?
Optics is a tough one. Many of us on this forum spend a lot of money on optics and it is quite difficult to tell where they are sourcing from and how much assembly they are doing here. One brand name may have different models made in different countries with differing percentages of assembly...
This is a great idea for a topic, and I appreciate your opening lines - keep it positive.
Having stuff made in China is not a crime, they are just trying to stay marketable. But it should be CLEARLY marked, as much of it already is, so we can decide for ourselves not to buy it. I hate...
Great article; thanks for sharing. I posted a lot about a "Surviving the Grizz" spray and pistol class I took in a different thread, so I won't repeat here.
I did see in the article the range of calibers that worked. No different than big game - it's about shot placement!
Everyone is...
For my contribution, my last three were
"Beneath a Scarlet Sky", a fictionally-written true account of a young Italian in WW2 who guided Jews over a Tyrolean pass to Switzerland., then became a spy for the Allies from within the Nazi SS. Its a true story written from a series of interviews...
I truly enjoyed reading this list, knowing it's compiled by like-minded people (hunters). Thank you for starting this thread. I admit when I saw the title I thought it was another silly topic for a hunting forum, but its really great.
I'd LOVE to have a 14' ceiling! You can hang things and do climbing exercises.
Put up a ladder, rigid or rope, wear a heavy backpack and climb up & down.
Hang a rope with or without knots and do the same.
Hang a diagonal ladder and climb the underside.
