I like Kuiu and own multiples of their Kutanas, Attacks and Tiburon pants.
I find the Tiburons too fragile for brush and the Attacks are more of a winter pant - Kutanas are my go-to for Pronghorn, Upland and early Whitetail.
Problem is I am perfectly in-between sizes and they only make...
Reminds me of when I was a kid...
Came home from school, alone in the house, let the two dogs out into the (fenced) yard. Moments later, much barking. I go out and see they have a Raccoon cornered. Looks to be about to get ugly, and my folks had warned about a possibly rabid raccoon being...
Completely get that camo is secondary. However my guy is, in that light yellow landscape, effectively going goth in all black.
I actually really like the idea of just wearing khaki solids.
So...Archery goats near the MT/ND/SD tripoint.
I know there's no silver bullet here, but I am trying to steer a buddy away from using dark eastern timber patterns which stand out like a walking tree in the prairie.
We tend to hunt very open rangeland with grasses and some low sage, and even...
I see you figured it out - I had the exact same concern when I bought mine. Gunsmith said "Inertia block, idiot!"
Actually he was only thinking "idiot" and was kind enough not to say it to my face. :-)
We finally have had some CWD cases in our immediate neighborhood - it's been coming. So I guess we'll start testing kills.
I did have an old family friend (well...early 50's - not that old) die of CJD a few years ago. Not from a hunting family, so less likely to be a connection.
Horrible way...
Thanks for the additional info.
You'll have to make decisions about where to give, as the canoe you need is going to be a unicorn. If budget were no object, I'd say a heavier Kevlar layup prospector or similar downriver hull...but perhaps something in a lighter material like Tuf-weave or...
I currently own 6 canoes - extended wilderness tripping is part of my/our lives, and I was paddling yesterday.
First: Tandem or Solo?
Second: How big/strong are you? Loading a 75# canoe is wildly different than a 40# canoe for most mere mortals.
Third: When you say camp...overnighters...
As pointed out, a DUI can be a real issue.
Foods - nothing fresh, just packaged foods, & you should be OK.
A couple years ago we were in line to cross into Canada...a single line, maybe a dozen vehicles. Two in front of us was a pickup hauling a fishing boat. Those guys thought that they...
I also bought those Marsupial clips and put them on my bino harness.
Completely agree that they are not the solution when you are moving. Tried that and it's a fail.
But those times where I need two hands and don't want to put the bow down...nice for that.
