Practice with your shelter / sleep system. After a long day hunting, you do not want to be fooling around trying to get camp set up. Also, mentally mark, or on GPS suitable camp locations as you come across them during the day. Once the sun has set, you can spend A LOT of time looking for a...
So in reading the Practice vs. Equipment thread it really got me thinking.
Even though I am primarily an archery hunter, I want to seriously expand my trigger time and improve my rifle shooting. I was planning on treating myself to a new rifle and was looking hard at a Christensen Ridgeline...
My biggest concern with having them in a belt pouch would be leaving them behind. Her is my scenario. I stop at an area I want to glass, but it does not maybe merit getting out the tripod. Just sit, get my binos out of the belt pouch and glass. Put binos down to have a snack. Stand up and...
someone just did this comparison over on the Long Range Hunting forum (not the one on Rokslide). His initial review was pretty high on the Vortex, but he has since made some comments about the optical clarity in the lower power settings. Last I read he was discussing with Vortex to see if this...
I use the Vortex adapter for my Sony RX100 III. I needed to attach the threaded filter adapter to my camera then the appropriate ring for the Vortex adapter. Fairly quick and works well.
Buffalo Trace and Makers are my daily drinkers. Knob Creek is in there as well.
Favorite is Stagg Jr, but it is hard to get here in Idaho, so when I see it I pick up a bottle or 2.
Well..... I had a “buddy” burn a spot a few years ago by inviting his buddy and his brothers buddy... now if someone is asking about that unit it’s the first place I tell them about.
Pants pocket and carry a spare in my bino harness. Only had one occasion when I could not get my release out fast enough. Had 3 bulls literally run up to 10 yards from me opening day a few years ago. I got an arrow out of the quiver, nocked and my release on the string before they got...
I think it would be too tight. I am 6'4" and I would not want to share my MT light, or have a stove in it. If I am running my stove, I typically bring my sawtooth.
I slice all my round steaks deli thin on a meat slicer and freeze in 1 pound packages for cheese steak sandwiches. Cook to medium rare, add some balsamic and worchestchire to help with tenderizing.
That's a lot of questions! I am 6'4" about 240. Broad shoulders, don't really know my shoulder measurements but wear a 48 long suit jacket.
I use an exped l/w pad which is a 25" pad. I run EE Long / Extra wide quilts. I do not find them too wide. Just about right so I can tuck the sides...
I had built a bow rack on my Ranger out of PVC pipe that held the bow great. Problem was that it would be totally coated with dust. I now use a hard case for my bow in the SxS. For the wheeler, I have a bow rack on the front (less dusty) but still really exposed. If you go the bow rack...
I am in the long arm category as well. I picked up a Matthews Traverse last year and really like it. Before that I had a PSE Beast and shot 2005 Bowtech Constitutions for 10 years. The Traverse is set up at 32.5"

I too have a soft spot for levers for plinking, brush hunting etc. I have the following:
.22 Henry
.357 & .44 Rossi
.500 S&W Big Horn Armory
All are a ton of fun to shoot!
I saw Aron on FB last week that they were anticipating getting shut down. I had them send me back my shoulder straps that I had sent in for a re-build (due to a frayed seam) as they were still in que. Kifaru responded quickly and got them back out to me before the shut down. Just under the...
I look at the tag cost increase a bit differently. As most of you know, on Aug 1st of each year, residents can by NR tags at the NR price. 3 years ago, F&G even discounted these tags as they were not selling out, many residents (myself included) took advantage of this lower priced NR tag to...
