    Elk Rifle Advice... again....

Ok, so I am still trying to decide on the perfect mountain rifle for me, plus I kind of want to treat myself to a new rifle. It is primarily an Elk rifle, with occasional deer and antelope. I live in Idaho, so let's say shots up to 500 on game (although I need a ton of practice to get there...

Hike or raft for pack out?

My guess if that stream is running water and 40 degrees, the air above it will be 20-30 degrees cooler (in the shade) than the air temp. Get it all packed to the stream and hang it in the shade near by. I should be plenty cool enough. If still concerned, submerge in contractor bags. Better...

Not sure what you mean by not having "one of those bad boys"? EVO is extra virgin olive oil.

Bringing the family along on out of state hunting trips - camper questions too

Couple points on outfitter tent vs. camper for the family. First is the camper has a real bathroom. Yes you have limited black tank capacity, but for the middle of the cold night trips.... Second is thermostated heat vs. having to stoke a wood stove or running a propane all night. Lastly...

Bringing the family along on out of state hunting trips - camper questions too

I know a lot of people who do exactly what you are talking about. They camp off a forest service road or at a camp ground and drive the truck to the trail head each morning. If you get the camper, look for one with the axels flipped to give you more clearance. Mine came new that way. Yes on...

DIY 7x14 enclosed trailer for camping

137buck, That's exactly the placement of my vents. I am thinking of making a sliding vent closure so I can still open them for highway driving (dries the interior out nicely) but close them when needed. I do not have a window in mine.

DIY 7x14 enclosed trailer for camping

I am in the beginnings of getting mine set up. I bought a 16X8.5 with a slight V last fall. Getting ready to do a Raptor spray in bed liner for the floor. Just ordered everything to put battery powered LED lights (the one in the trailer only works when hooked to the truck) on the inside and...

    Alaknak tent user Question

I have the 12X12. I agree the roof protector is pretty small, but I always used it as wind swirls all the time. That said, I have zero holes in the protector or in the tent and I've probably got 75-100 days of stove use on it.
