I have been very interested in doing the same thing. Awhile back, I found a company that makes a rowing setup for canoes, it's removable for if you want to use it as a canoe. I respect the DIY though.
I don't think this is the system I looked at before, but the concept is there...
I GPS all of my miles in the mountains. I frequently go over 10, but honestly it's probably not the most effective method of hunting. But I like stats.
It appears you must have an updated model, since it obviously has the new style sleeve on it. I'm a little jealous, as I've found it to be a PIA to load the water bladder in between the frame and bag. I think the guys that have a quick connect on the bladder like it, but I can't stand it if...
It really is only a short term solution for the antis. If the game agency is not meeting harvest quotas, they will increase the number of tags in the future. It might be the only time they have ever actually invested in the wildlife they say they care about so much. Instead of worrying about...
Does this seem as big as the Late Season? The same things you mentioned about the Spike Camp and Late Season are the same things I've disliked about them.
@hammer0419 looks sweet! Pretty much what I'm looking for in an everyday pack. Have you had any of the other Kifaru daypacks? Like a 14'r or Spike Camp? I'm wondering how the main bag size compares to those. That setup does look sweet.
The Hanwag Alaskas are sweet boots, I prefer the Ancash for my narrow foot. If you already have some all leather boots, I think the Alverstone look pretty sweet for a lighter weight boot. I will be picking up a set of those in the not too distant future.
I'd sure like to see some pics and thoughts on the pack. There's just not much out there through the Google for pictures of this one. It seems like the main bag and top pockets would be bigger than the 14'r, but specs are saying otherwise. I wish it had slot pockets instead of the zippered...
I want to bump this back up, I'm looking for some feedback on this. I would like to replace the old Late Season, and would enjoy hearing from those who have this pack.
I feel like if you've researched going to Yellowstone, somewhere you have seen that bears are dangerous and have killed people. If not, there are plenty of signs to indicate this throughout the park. I hope they hold her accountable and make it so she doesn't want to visit another national...
