Couple guys have beat me to it but whenever I go floorless I use a borah bivy. Just keeps everything together, cleaner, and bug free. Can even add a little warmth.
I love my woobie but I’ve used it for everything BUT hunting. It’s just too big for my packing style. How do you carry it? The attached stuff sack? Compression sack? I’ve tried a couple and it’s still huge. Just can’t justify it when I already have a puffy jacket and pants packed.
I post an honest response to the OPs question and yours is to question my hunting experience?
If you equate taking someone’s hunting spot with sleeping with their wife then you have other issues. The fact that you talk more about the infidelity than the hunting infraction makes me think you’ve...
Sorry I’m not getting as worked up as some guys are. I wasn’t there when you agreed to keep the spot a secret but in the post you said as a go to opener spot. Well he went a couple weeks after he went there with you. At that point repeat business is fair game in my mind. Sure I’d be pissed if...
I forgot about the chamberlain. I use that thing probably more non-hunting than hunting. Just because I’m not in the woods too much once the temps drop that much. Things a damn furnace. Just picked up a pair of the original grizzly mitts off of here. They’re a little tighter than I hoped but...
I have a large. I bought them a couple years ago when they were called vapor storm light pants to match the light jacket. I don’t know if they’ve changed anything besides the name but I really like them. They’re form fitting but light and flexible enough. Pretty easy on/off with the full side...
The gear I love:
Base/mid layers: FL merino (for cut/comfort/warmth)
Raingear: FL SEAK jacket and boundary stormtight pants (have the SEAK pants too but honestly haven’t needed to wear them because I’ve been so impressed by the boundary. I live and hunt west WA so I basically live in rain gear)...
This may not be the feedback you want to hear but it really depends. I’ve hired multiple people over the last couple years and honestly we’re always trying to hire the best candidate we can. Sometimes qualified applicants are sparse or they trickle in. So we wait a couple weeks to get multiple...
It’s works. Only inconvenience is the double hoods. That’s why I got the Brooks vest when I just want it as an insulation layer. Personally I think it’s spot on warmth to weight. I run the Brooks jacket when I don’t need double insulation or when I need a tougher shell and throw a rain jacket...
