I put these in the freezer a few days ago so I had to pull some out from last year to make room. We just cooked some up tonight. Such a rich meal to have on a cold night with a side of toast.

Saw these at Costco yesterday. While not ultralight, they are cheap. I did find it comical that they call them shooting stick but leave off an image of a rifle on the packing/display, just a picture of the v-rest. Guess they don't want to offend anyone...

FYI/PSA - Last night the Northern RAC rejected the proposal to go to the draw and re-recommended that the any-bull go unlimited. The public was ADAMENT about no unlimited tags last year and these knuckleheads are going against the public with invalid data to justify their agenda.
PLEASE LET...
20 is the physical drill.
FYI if you're using the k-drill, get yourself a fleet of batteries. I have an Eskimo hand drill that I put an adapter on and it does 20 holes on the XC5.0 batteries. Hooked it up to the k-drill and it did 7 on a fresh XC5.0.

Interesting points of views shared here.
We did not discuss meat sharing before the trip as I've never felt the need to.
I've helped pack out a lot of elk and never asked or expected any meat. I do hope they can return the favor when I down an animal, but I don't expect it. I know others...
I'm usually a solo hunter when I have tags in my pockets, but I did a group hunt this weekend with 4 guys where 2 of us were tag holders and 2 were not. I has the only one to fill a tag. It was an antelope so not a ton of meat to go around and I absolutely love antelope. We shared the heart that...
Thanks for the link. This is a little ambiguous, but any aid and rescue costs are on the injured individual. Not sure what "fees" would kick in for trigger, but I would think they'd be minimal compared to the aid and rescue efforts?
A quick video taken when you ask your buddy whether or not he...
Do you have the language in the contract that states this? Not trying to be a dick, just want to understand. Seems like the person who gets loaded into a helicopter would be billed, not the owner of the unit that dispatched the rescue.
Example: say I'm hunting with a buddy who breaks both his...
I've been happy with the performance of Anker. I keep them in my bag or breast pocket of my puffy when temps get cold to keep them happy.

Ironwill K1.
I used to carry a few but now have enough confidence in this knife as a do all. It handles whole elk no problem.

Ever since I build a walk-in a few years ago, I'm always hung my quarters bone-in for a few weeks the the meat exposed. The end product is superb and I just trim the crust and further dehydrate it for the pup. But I'm curious if wrapping the quarters (after they are fully cooled down) in saran...
Yes, I let my buddy use mine without any problems. We setup the presets for him and he downloaded the app.
I have the insurance through Garmin, so if there were an issue and he needed to use the SOS he wouldn't be covered. But at least he could get help.

This little nugget was born on Wednesday and my heart has never been more full! Momma and baby girl are fantastic and very healthy! Currently she's passed out on my chest while my wife gets some much needed sleep. Life is GOOD!!!
Thanks again OP for starting this thread, wonderful to see how...
Went on a walk with the pup and my very pregnant (7 days overdue with our first) wife on a crisp fall morning with fresh snow in the mountains.
Buddy text me a picture of an empty case that he wrote on before he left for a hunt after I helped him build a load for his rifle. He's on a deer hunt...
They're also a hunting company so it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they are operating a reduced crew right now so their employees can get it into the woods. Plus the volume of inquires is probably high due to people needing last minute gear. No need to panic, give them a few days...
I've been pretty happy with the ironwill K1. I've stopped carrying a replaceable blade (Gerber vital) and only carry the K1. Looks like they have listened to feedback and are now offering quite a few options. If I were to order one today I'd get one without the top blade and do the black ceramic...
