Anyone shoot rifled slugs through rifled shotgun barrel?

Thanks for the reply! I will check into the options mentioned above. Im shooting a mossberg 500. I have tried the Hornady SST many times and just can’t get them to shoot well in my gun. The federal powershok actually work great and are cheap but I can never find them.

Anyone shoot rifled slugs through rifled shotgun barrel?

I guess I’ve never thought about reloading them but I will have to look into it

Anyone shoot rifled slugs through rifled shotgun barrel?

I have been shooting sabot slugs my whole life in my 20 gauge shotgun with a rifled slug barrel. But in recent years it has been almost impossible to find a decent selection of sabot 20 gauge shells, and when you do find them they are super expensive. It has me tempted to switch to regular...

    Mid-day mule deer strategy?

Good topic here. I have bumped big bucks mid day and nearly gotten shots. I think I’m going to try it more this year.

Water filtration in dry sage country

Ahh good point. I’ll maybe just plan to pack water in again but have my filter with me in case the water sources are good

Water filtration in dry sage country

Thanks for the replies, that helps. I actually think there are a couple stock tanks not too far away from where I am. So that would probably be an easy option that I hadn’t even thought about!

Water filtration in dry sage country

I’ve been out there a couple times but mostly during dry years so maybe that would make a big enough difference. Most years even the running creeks are pretty brown. What is your concern with bentonite and selenium for filtration?

Water filtration in dry sage country

Im planning for a backpack hunt in Eastern Wyoming this fall, and wondering how much I need to worry about filtering water out of stagnant water holes. Some years the water holes look decent and somewhat clear. But On the dry years, it can be pretty muddy and brown. I have a sawyer squeeze and...

    Rich Man's Sport

A lot of the cost can be attributed to people’s obsession with trophy hunting. Where I’m from in the Midwest, it’s mostly private land. But 30 years ago, all the woods were owned by farmers and nobody cared about where people hunted. My grandpa could walk onto the neighbors land and hunt and...

Who's going to be the first hunting 'celebrity' or Youtube personality to put their foot down and stop using cellular cameras?

I think the delay would be a great compromise. But IMO trying to enforce a ban on cell cams or even a 12-24 hour delay is going to be almost impossible.

Who's going to be the first hunting 'celebrity' or Youtube personality to put their foot down and stop using cellular cameras?

I personally don’t like the idea of using cell cameras and I have pretty much quit using any kind of camera the last couple years. But I doubt many hunting celebrities will go that direction. It seems that people who don’t like cell cams are definitely in the minority.

    Side Hustle

Gotcha. I was asking because in my opinion, it is always easier for someone to just put a little bit more time in at their current job if that opportunity is available. Probably will make more money per time spent than a lot of side hustles. But I completely understand that if you don’t like...

Raincoat suggestions for tree stand and glassing

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I should clarify that I don’t need it dead quiet, maybe just not super loud like some of the non-hunting raincoats I’ve worn in the past. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Raincoat suggestions for tree stand and glassing

I’ve been looking to get a new raincoat to use as my outer layer. I would use it over a puffy while glassing. But I also do a fair amount of tree stand hunting in Wisconsin. So quiet material would be best. I’ve been pretty hard at getting the blackovis hailstone rain coat for $175 but I also...
