Who's going to be the first hunting 'celebrity' or Youtube personality to put their foot down and stop using cellular cameras?

The sooner people realize social media is all about “creating some sort of angst” the sooner people will realize its all “made up”.

The clicks come from a combination of sensationalism, anger, controversy, or shock. The algorithm for getting clicks (and this money) os by combining as many of those elements together to gather as many different groups of people to view their posts.

Nothing more, nothing less. You would do well to realize this and just stop clicking. On all of it. The only social media that doesnt follow such algorithms are forums, and those just get ad revenue for traffic. The one benefit to forums is they can be moderated.

I personally don’t like the idea of using cell cameras and I have pretty much quit using any kind of camera the last couple years. But I doubt many hunting celebrities will go that direction. It seems that people who don’t like cell cams are definitely in the minority.

It’s too much money being made for there to be anything pushed hard enough to stop it. It’s hard for me to see anyone with that much backing and power to do so.

Why should I care if YOU don't think it's fair chase to use a cell cam? You go hunt in your underwear with a spear if you want. That's awesome. I'm using my cell cam. If harvest numbers go through the roof and too many animals are being killed due to using them then the individual states can ban them. I live in PA. My situation is a little different than most of you guys out west.

I am assuming these are most helpful during the rut as most mature bucks are nocturnal otherwise??

Or are these used to just kill whatever is legal?

Trail cameras don't kill deer, hunters kill deer.

The main advantage I see from cell cams in the East is putting them in places early where I wouldn't go to check a camera. It allows you to survey an area without leaving scent behind.

There's situations where they could be (and are) used during a hunt, but I think generally they aren't.

You shouldn't.

But you should realize people might offer a different viewpoint on an internet forum.

I know a group of individuals that have cell cams at known crossings going into timbered blocks where they have large areas to permission hunt during the late season archery. When a buck moves into these areas, they gang hunt the area with 10-12 people based on the intel, and are very effective at killing the mature deer in thier area.

Sorry, this is a problem

For the record. I have 14 cameras in 3 different states year round . None are cell cams. All are used for inventory and are checked only 2-3 times per year

Some guys get the bucks that only come thru once a season. They pattern em based on 1 camera picture base it off lunar periods and hunt the area a couple days the following year and shoot the buck. Go figure!
