    First Elk Hunt Poll

That was one big question I had about Colorado if we go OTC or an easy draw was better. Draw you are limited to that or nearby units but hunters are limited. OTC you are free to move units more and risk more hunters. One thing about Colorado for our first hunt that might be appealing is I only...

    First Elk Hunt Poll

That’s what I would be afraid of.. I wonder how many B&C elk have been seen in range with a cow tag only! I haven’t really looked at ML. Be another piece of equipment to buy. When looking at Colorado was in the middle of archery so just figure I’d use a bow and have more time/dates to hunt.

    First Elk Hunt Poll

I’d be happy to hunt 11 weeks of elk! I don’t think my wife or boss would appreciate that though. Lol

    First Elk Hunt Poll

I’d say our future elk hunting will mostly consist of archery bull hunts. We are really wanting to get out and use this season as a learning experience mostly. Meat will be a bonus. If that means we need to experience archery bulls because that’s what our end game is then we are happy to go...

    First Elk Hunt Poll

I’d say the money spent for this hunt is more of the experience. Learning to locate elk and how to approach them once located is probably the highest agenda.

    First Elk Hunt Poll

Trying to get some insight on which route to focus on. This will be our first year going out West. I live in Kansas and my buddy is in NC. We are going to start building points in Wyoming and some other options but for getting out this Fall here are my thoughts (no particular order). We are...

    Deer heart

I love the heart. So many just leave it. My preferred way is to dice it up into little cubes and do a quick sauté in garlic butter. You will save them all from here on out.

    Montana General vs Colorado OTC

I’m in a similar situation myself. I think we are going to get a point in MT to hunt it next year. Is OTC CO a better option rather than trying to draw an “easy” unit in CO?

    No peep

Gearhead B20 no peep and no stabilizer! I use a bowmar nose button as another anchor point.

What did you get for Christmas?

Elk101, gohunt subscriptions and elk101 ideal call kit for my first trip out west next year. Also in a Christmas card from my wife it said “Have fun hunting elk hunting next fall!” Pretty much how I read that was... here is your blank gift card to get what you need? [emoji2369]

Western KS solo public land archery deer hunt

Good luck! I just walked out of the woods here in KS with no bucks tagged. Got a few doe in the freezer and headed out this weekend to punch that any deer tag with a doe.

    Newb from Kansas

I think you could easily find all of the information in there from many different resources. What I think is worth the price is how it’s all compiled together. But like you said I haven’t put it to use and haven’t finished the whole course yet so time will tell. For my first time hunting elk it...

    Newb from Kansas

I just finished up the elk101 workout module. Not a big fan of gyms but I think I found a great “training” area at the nearby lake. Going to utilize the dam to train hill climb/side hilling. There is also a 1 mile trail next to the archery range. Figure combining those up will be a good place to...
