All I wanted to do when I was a kid was chase ducks and geese so I get it! Grouse is my main passion now but I still get out quite a bit for ducks each year. Luckily ducks in the morning and grouse after breakfast is usually on the table.
I'm sure there will be a group of people where carbon stays are optimal for the way they hunt. I'm curious more than anything.. @sndmn11 are the shoulder straps padded (enough to make less than optimal gun mounts) ?
For what it is worth, I have a Final Rise and it's the best vest I have ever personally used. I will hunt with it until it no longer functions which by its build quality will be a loooong time.

Grouse fan on the right was a pure red phase I took a couple years ago. Burnt orange ruffs it was an incredibly beautiful bird, but it was too shot up to do a full mount.
