That's been our experience also. I also think 50% - 75% of the hunters don't really hunt, don't get away from the roads, and don't know where the elk are and hope to stumble onto them. Where my partner and I hunt we see quite a few guys up on top where the road ends, but they never bail off...
Im the independent type i guess. I don't need the guide to whip me up something to eat anytime i get hungry. Figured my own stove would make it easier.
Where can I get some fuel for my jetboil once I get there since the airlines won't let me fly with it? I get into Anchorage at 11pm and leave on the shuttle for Healy at 7:30 am the next day. Thanks for all the info so far. Nice to have a locals insight.

Actually the KUIU is full of pockets and pouches, they aren't add-ons, they are part of the pack. There are 4 exterior pockets that zip plus 2 exterior stuff pockets. Plus there are 7 interior pockets for organizing gear. That's one of the things I really like about my 5000. Lots of pockets...
