    Louder calling for bigger bulls?

I'm curious what everyones thoughts are about calling bigger moose, say 50+ inches. Does sounding bigger when raking and grunting bring in bigger bulls assuming the time of the year is right and bulls are sizing each other up? We just got back from alaska and the our transported said to only...

    Gear, gear, and more gear…

I think you only need one saw. I bring the silky saw and have no problems with cutting branches or skull. I brought both my first time to alaska and got sick of switching blades with the wyoming saw and did everything with the silky saw but i think you could ditch one. Outside of that our...

    Exo Experience "through my lens"

Sounds like a great spot! I know plenty of people that do run and gun for moose and seem to make it work just fine, I was not one of those people sadly enough. I'm really excited for your hunt and I hope they make a video with it!

    Exo Experience "through my lens"

regarding your hunt tactics I'm curious about the spot and stalk approach. Are you still going to be calling from the same area every day to try and locate the moose then put a stalk in or are you going to be mobile with your camp before the 15th? I'm heading out in 3 weeks for moose and I've...

    The moose lake

I love this question as I had the same question after my first moose hunt! There are clearly better people to answer this than me but we decided where to go based off of the best glassing. the 3 moose hunts I've been on have been kind of inconsistent with wind direction so we would just try to...

    problems with rucking

That's what I'm starting to think more about. I have yet to have any injuries but I'm starting to think long term and gradual wear and tear. I do love the mental aspect of a super heavy hike but it just takes one wrong step to create a problem.

    problems with rucking

I use my exo K4 and barneys pack with 3 50 lb bags I got from cabelas. I use to use concrete bags but got tired of them leaking over time! haha

    problems with rucking

Thank you for your service! I do agree that there are better things to do than carry stupid heavy weight but I love the work out for one and 2 I am hoping to get a moose this year and I think for me I just want to know what that may feel like to get my mind around the weight.

    problems with rucking

I love the break down you gave! once I hit over 120 I have a slight flexion lean and I always use trekking poles to help with balance but because I do have some flexion I could see it irritating the disc but I could also see an application where the tissue gets strong like we see with eccentric...

    problems with rucking

A lot of work with barefoot with balance boards, boss ball and one leg at a time trying to focus on intrinsic muscle fibers. I spend time standing on one leg like a single leg rdl then rotating my spine left and right to create instability. I found a lot of thoughts on rucking but I was looking...

    problems with rucking

I'm curious about spinal injuries with heaving packs and hiking specifically in the spine. I have been unable to find any legitimate research about how the spinal discs respond to heavy loads over time and I'm hoping someone here has some solid answers. I know about wolffs law and how good...

    Exo K3/K4 crib panel necessary??

I agree that its great for training. I found it more easy to train with various weights so it was easier to put it all in my pack but between last years training and this years i noticed the attachment piece at the bottom of the frame has started to rub thinner. if you'd like a picture to...

    Electrical Tape on muzzle

I went out to the shooting range and had to see it for myself with electrical tape. I have a 300 win mag with a muzzle break and I didn't notice a difference between my 200 yard zero and 800 so I always wrap up the muzzle before hunting

What time did you shoot your Alaskan Moose?

Thanks for the response! as an elk hunter the sitting kills my soul but so many people talk about killing an area with scent that I have tried to be more patient and not hike a lot. I take it that you haven't noticed an issue with moose avoiding your areas after walking around? My second drop...
