NAPGA has little cards that I try and carry to hand out to people interested in goats for packing. They have the 10 rules on them for goat packing. It's a newer thing and tends to lend itself towards people with no stock experience so I try and educate newer users so that we can avoid this image.
As a goat packer I agree. When on a trail keep them under your control. It might be a horse or a dog that they find. It's bad practice to not have them always under control. They don't have to have a rope attached to you but being in front of them is important so you can be the first to a...
I don't like concrete in contact with carbon or copper pipe. I'd be curious why you have a carbon pipe going through that wall and underground. Why are they using carbon for potable water to begin with?
Good chance the entire line is rotting out if not just in the concrete wall.

You're on the right track. At that age it's all about spending time with them and getting them out and experiencing the woods with you.
They are just like kids and you will see them develop into their own personality and each goat will develop their own strong points.
General rule of thumb is 25% of body weight.
A good well built goat that is well conditioned can easily do more.
It really depends on the terrain, on or off trail. Much like us.

Fun times.
A little advice. Ditch the little toy training packs.
Go right to the packs they will be using when you hunt with them. They don't need them and are a waste of money.

Virginia City is a must and if you have kids be sure and take them into the Candy store.
Bannack is cool historical ghost town type of place. They have a tour and you will learn a lot of history.
No matter where you go 4th of July weekend it's going to be busy.
We might be in the the area...

Drop them in the boots or even fill the entire boot with them before going to bed. We have even warmed our rocks up in the morning and had fresh warm...
Not sure where mine is but should be soon for the biuld. Cerakote adds about 9 weeks after it's biult. Tempting to not do that but I think I'll stick with it for now.
