    Trijicon Huron $399

Yeah, it went up to $454 a few weeks ago, so I figured I better jump on it when it came back down.

    Irish setter boots

Wore a pair of non insulated elk trackers on my first archery elk hunt. The rocks and deadfall cut the leather on the toe and despite them being well broke in and comfortable hunting in the east, they hurt my feet every day in the mountains. I picked up a pair of Schnees beartooths for my next...

    Budget Rokslide Special

I should also mention after reading Forms thread about the Howa ultralight, I wanted to test the mini and slammed the bolt closed as hard as I could about a dozen times. The sear held without any problems on this one.

    Budget Rokslide Special

For loads, I had a bunch of bulk Lake City green tip fmj ammo that I sorted into 3 piles; 1 for brass that was really banged up and dented, 1 that was "moderately" dented, and 1 that was minimally dented. I pulled the bullets from the moderately and minimally dented piles and loaded 20 of the...

    Budget Rokslide Special

After lurking around the 223 thread for a while, I finally decided to get a 223 for my youngest daughter to use for deer hunting. I was frozen with "analysis paralysis" trying to decide between a CZ 600, Tikka compact, RA gen 2 ranch, or Howa mini. I waited too long and missed out on the killer...

Arken: Too Good to Be True Chinese Glass?

https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/arken-epl-4-4-16x44mm-field-eval.301668/ Form did an evaluation of this one. Looks like it passed the 18" and left/right 36" drops and partially passed the single top drop. Things shifted after the 9x 36" drops and then it had trouble holding zero after that...

    6.5 grendel projectiles

Shot a nice sized doe in 2022 at about 60 yards. She did a 30 yard death run and down. My daughter shot a button buck this year at about 40 yards. Buck kicked, ran in a circle, stopped and stood there for a few seconds, and tipped over. No fuss no muss. Both were shot using 123 eldm. Complete...

    C-PAP for back country hunt

Like @Titan said, the most efficient machine to run on a battery is one that uses an input of 12V. All CPAP machines use DC, but not all are 12V. Look at the box on the power cord that came with the machine and see what the output is. Here is one from a Resmed airsense 10. The box converts 110V...

    C-PAP for back country hunt

Turn off all unnecessary functions (humidifier, Bluetooth/WiFi) and get a machine that uses 12v and doesn't convert from 12v to something higher. Capacity is lost when converting power.
