    Co 24’ license allocation…

If they manage to ban mountain lion hunting, on top of adding wolves, I think the glory days of CO mule deer will be gone for a while. But that's just a guess. They managed to reduce the herd of deer in unit 103 by offering excessive doe tags for the last 10 years. I've hunted it for 25 years...

    Truck Suspension Upgrade

Have put Bilsteins on a Tundra, 4runner and now a F250 ford. There has been great ride improvement on all vehicles. On the F250 I dropped wheel diameter to 17" and increased tire size a bit. Then did the Bilsteins. Rides a ton better on rough roads now.

Hunting Big Game with Man’s Best Friend

My drahts alert me to game animals on any walk in the neighborhood. The CPW people I have been around would not hesitate to give me a ticket for having a hunting dog along on a big game hunt. Easy pass for me. I hate talking to those guys long enough to show them my signed license. I don't feel...

3-9x40 enough for medium range antelope?

If your 3x9 has good turrets should work fine. I'm in the same age range and used to use a 6x to those ranges with no issues. I have to admit one of my western slope buddies talked me into trying a few scopes with more power while we were sitting around bear camp one year. Now I have a NX8...

Have T3x Lite Compact .223 - next up .270 low recoil?

I'd spend any future funds on quality suppressors if starting over with my kids who are now grown. For any future grandkids, it'll be 100% suppressed from the start. Those Tikkas would both be 18" and threaded before they went to the range.

    Which rifle to Suppress?

I'd send the barreled action to one of the better places for setting that up. I used Thunderbeast to take care of mine but I use Thunderbeast suppressors. See if someone names a credible shop and send it to them. Well worth it.

    Which rifle to Suppress?

18" barreled 6.5 Creedmoors do great. I haven't had a fluted barrel cut back yet but guessing with right adapters it would be fine. Nice looking rifles.

    Finances for addicts

At 58 and looking back, my cheap memories mean as much to me as my expensive memories lol. Lot of cheap adventure in the west with some gas money and a bit of desire.

    Finances for addicts

I did the same on any bonuses or tax refunds. Put them on the house. Had it paid off in a single income family at age 40. Then things started getting a lot more fun.

    Finances for addicts

Go to vanguard.com or fidelity.com. You can set them up easily. Do it yourself and just buy the total stock market index fund. No penalties if you withdraw. You can withdraw anytime you like and have your money within a day or two. You will pay capital gains taxes or accumulate losses...

    Finances for addicts

Look at Fidelity or Vanguard for a stock fund with low initial investment. Then do monthly deposits. Its really easy to get going. Money markets are paying 5.3% now but the Total Stock Market Index fund is still beating most funds at the before mentioned 12.7% annual rate the last 10 years.

    Finances for addicts

Vanguard Total Stock Market Index for the life of the fund which started 11/2000 is 8.25% a year. For the last 10 years its 12.27% a year. Compounding interest is very powerful but requires discipline and patience. Hunt a lot of stuff along the way and this is indeed a way of paying for a dream...

Taking Equity out of Home OP spoke to me - now, me too!

If someone gave my son $25,000 and told him he could use it on a house down payment or spend it on a hunt with me, I'd be pissed as hell if we went hunting. But since he was 3 we've been hunting together and he has a wall full of great animals on DIY hunts here in CO. My daughter is the same...

    6x45

After I built mine, I went on a blackpowder and archery spree. The 87 vmax is interesting to me. I love bullet performance at modest impact performance have always have routinely boring performance from all makes of Berger vld. But I bet that 87 would do well. It may be a bit softer than my...

    Masculinity and Caliber Choice

As a young kid I started out with a 7mm Remington. Then a 7mmSTW. Then a 338 win mag. Then a 340 weatherby. Then a 375 Weatherby. Then a 30-06. Then a 6.5-06. Then a 6.5x47. Kind of settled on the 6.5x47, 6.5-284 and 6x45 for hunting stuff these days. It was a fun road to go down, but if I had...

    6x45

My 6/45 was built as a lefty using an ARC Nucleus, Hawk Hill 7.5 twist at 18" and sits in a McMillan classic. I shoot 95 vld, 95 classics, 90 eld and 75 vmax, all at or very close to half inch. I can get the 95 stuff up very close to 2600 fps. RL15, Varget and TAC. Brass is basically free as I...

    Good luck tomorrow in CO

Nope, that is related to a rifle cartridge for my first rifle I built many years ago. Good luck on that desert.
