Daughter went through biosystems engineering in 4 years. Worked two different gigs in last 6 years and decided to self study civil engineering and passed her PE on first try 2 years ago. Works as an engineer in the water proofing industry and does well. Enjoys it.
Leftover draw maybe. I'd say 4 weeks is not enough time to buy new and become proficient to 300 yards but I'm a grumpy old guy lol. Killed a few elk with blackpowder and always under 100 yards so you should be fine. Since you are looking for new, can't help much. Best of luck.
Bumping this up. My area in KS routinely sees 40-60 mph winds. Thinking something heavy duty like this anchored in a couple of cedars may work well. Any more recent feedback on this brand?
I'm using 80 grains of swiss ffg and a no excuses 385 in my 45 caliber renegade with stainless Green Mountain barrel. With my peep and front I seem to do okay to 150 yards. My eyes are probably a bit older lol.
Sounds like several in this thread shooting really well. Hoping to punch a tag...
Good looking dog there. I love watching them retrieve quail. My oldest just about has the whole bird in his mouth. Some good looking pups in this thread. Hope others get involved with them, great breed.
Planning on a few trips with the draht boys this fall. Just got in some new Russell boots and a pair of Irish Setter budget boots. Breaking those in and waiting for my Model 12 16 gauge barrel to get back from Briley. Hoping for an awesome fall.
I heat 2500 square feet really well with a wood burning insert. If your county allows it, I would not be without one. My home insurance doesn't seem to mind. Sort of nice when the power goes out or temps plunge below zero to have a warm house. If it goes the way you say, that will suck.
Wood burning fireplace with insert. LED lights on any staircases and under kitchen cabinets. More canned lights then you think you need. Get any water lines done for barns or outbuildings done before any driveways etc go in. Same for electric.
Last whitetail I shot with a 7mm mag was 650 yards with a 180 scenar. The one before that I belly crawled into 30 yards and shot him bedded with a 168 berger. Whatever shoots good in yours is fine.
I was able to resist so far this year lol. My favorite time to grab a pup with my schedule is January. Gives me 9 months to train, then hunt for a fall, then do testing when they are a bit more mature. January 2026 I'll add another if I can hold out.

I think we've killed 8 now, but in a little bit of a bear drought. Drew a great antelope tag in Sept so only doing 2-3 days for bears. Always fun to get out and look for them. Your optics seem fine to me. Typically I look at one long enough to be sure no cubs are present and its big enough. Then...
It was mentioned before, but maybe dial the Nightforce all the way up and all the way back down. Keep track of how much vertical you get. If it varies from the published amount, I would bet the zero stop is causing the issue. Go on youtube, watch a video on that scope and reset that.
Hope you...
My velvet caribou shot in 1993 looks great still. We have a group of 12 and 1 guy was a taxidermist. He injected all the bulls with formaldehyde. Just a sample of 1 but 29 years and 6 cross country moves later its looking great.
I don't think the meds will do anything to increase your cardiovascular ability. When I lived in the midwest I'd climb high school bleachers with a loaded pack. You could find a very steep hill in your area, or a building with 10 flights of steps. Anything that works your legs and lungs.

The jerky looks good. Its hard to tell from the pics but the biltong starts out a little more than a half inch thick, about thumb width actually. The consistency is definitely different than American jerky. Now that I have tried it, it is a noticeably different product.
