"Treated down is also more prone to clumping than untreated down, which makes it tricky to keep properly lofted within a garment or sleeping bag." - I've seen this firsthand. Wife and me camped in a valley by a creek. Tent covered in condensation in the morning so super damp air. This was years...
I have a Rad that has treated me well so far. I use it out west, with that said the mid-drives are surely better however with an upgraded 35?amp controller this thing will pull most hills throttle only.
I can’t see paying over 3-4k for an ebike when they’re classified as a motorized vehicle on...
You guys aren’t getting any younger, and life happens fast. I still remember the out of the blue phone call I got about my mother and that was it.
Chances are you probably won’t get a guided hunt for that price, but I’d bet you could work with IndianSummer or one of those other “semi guided”...
Colorado already does something for rifle by making you pick/draw/whatever which "season" you hunt... do the same for archery and cap the tags so people can't just pile into second/third. Split up archery season into 4 separate seasons ~1 week long each.
OP - heed this warning. Look at where your eye and head is in relation to that bolt when you're pulling the trigger.
Not trying to be harsh, but it isn't worth your sight, limbs or life. Get the rifle inspected, bolt replaced if need be and START OVER.
Before I go further - I did do a search here, and didn't turn up a whole hell of a lot, which is why I'm posting.
The plan is to head out to eastern WA next week for muzzleloader deer. I've been wanting to do this for a few seasons, just now getting the chance to go. Most whitetail hunting...
I wouldn't be overly upset at the food situation - it is what it is, especially if I don't have to worry about it.
The shitty camp and not being able to call/broken commitments otherwise? Yeah for $10k I'm expecting cozy wall tent camp and having a guide who knows what's up.
A lot of guys get way caught up in camo patterns and whatnot, not realizing that it makes next to no difference for most hunts.
Another thing to realize is that Sitka, Kuiu, First Lite et al are all riding on the coattails of mountaineering companies that were manufacturing this gear long...
I have a wall tent and camp fits in the bed of my truck so the nod to walk around space and mobility goes to the tent. Its one of the other advantages to tent camping that I forgot to mention in my post - I don't need to concern myself with finding a spot I can get into with a camper. If I can...
I don't know how to feel about this.
On one hand, they shouldn't have advertised it as "the last sock you'll ever need to buy"... that's on them.
On the other hand, you've got to be a real dumbass to expect a pair of socks to last you a lifetime. Its a wear item just like anything else. If...
Sleeping bag is usually the last item to get packed for me, and that goes into compression usually the morning I'm leaving or the night before.
They're too expensive to risk otherwise. I'm sure an extra day or two probably won't hurt, but it isn't like its a big ordeal to do it right before.
I guess "pouring out" was the wrong terminology, but if it was stuck twice there should've been at least one blood "line" - or at least the blood on the side of the animal should've been noticeable.
What a joke. The dude didn't notice the blood pouring out of the side of the animal?
I want the believe that people have the best intentions, and maybe he didn't notice, but I've heard many a story of guys getting to an animal first and tagging it even if they weren't the shooter... which is...
This is another thing that kills me... I was up in an area yesterday that can only support 1-2 guys, and another guy parks at the trail head and is hiking in. While yes, its public land, and I was on the way out so no harm... doesn't anyone stop and think anymore? If your plan A is overrun, why...
I was here some time ago and after using a camper, I missed my tents.
For one, campers cost $$$. They have tires and wheel ends that need to be maintained/replaced. Lights. Electronics. Pumps. All shit that can break and costs money to maintain.
It’s obvious, but they also cost a LOT more to...
So last year I purchased an ebike and I’ve been enjoying using it when it’s legal. This got me to thinking, however, that surely some guys do a bike in style camp similar to how some ATV guys will. My wife ended up buying a bike trailer for her bike so now I have a trailer… it’s starting to come...
I’m surprised at the guys using those little bitty tents in the late season. From about October on the nights are getting long enough that it sucks coming back to a tiny shelter where you can barely move around. I’m back to the shelter and it’s 6pm - I’m not even close to being ready for bed!
I have no experience with Kifaru frames, but like you a few years back I got the weight reduction bug wanting to drop a couple pounds off my SG and the SO looked to be the way to do it.
Don't get me wrong - the construction of the SO packs was great... but that frame only comfortably carried...
