    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

I may move to both the Exodus and SB. So far I have killed the small bodied deer we have here in NC and in fact after the second one I questioned why I was even using the Exodus. I think I could have shot the arrow shaft through them - literally the second arrow I watched go through and to my...

    Post Season Learning...

First let me thank everyone on RS for the input and help this hunting season. While I may have sparred with a few of you (who wanted to go negative) I do overall appreciate the input - even the "quit whining" style input at times... Its post season for me. I am starting to do some field work to...

    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

Your welcome... Keep those Exodus'es in play. Great broadheads and I love when I even thought they weren't razor sharp it took less than 5 min to pop in new blades.

Peep Sight Hell (Redux many times over... Just pleading for a solution)...

I have a Diamond SB-Deploy, a Bowtech Revolt, and a Elite Kure (the later two I am building out like I want). The issue is with the Diamond. Not stock strings, I had them replaced. And I shot the thing all last year probably 500+ arrows. It ran flawlessly all hunting season - literally did not...

    3 String Peep?

My wife wants to learn to shoot a bow... I bought her an draw length and weight changeable Bear bow as a starter to help her learn and get the poundage up. It has a peep sight with the string split 3 ways around the peep. I am assuming this is to keep it in alignment better or ?? I am getting...

    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

I am moving to a single bevel, but man let me tell you I may also keep my exodus'es... Those puppies shot through 3 deer this year and kept going like bats out of hell!! All 3 deer were dead within 40 yards. In one case the deer jumped the string really hard and the arrow went in in front of the...

Peep Sight Hell (Redux many times over... Just pleading for a solution)...

I feel like with my bows I am peep sight hell... Everytime I get a peep sight working right, suddenly I pick up the bow and now its crazy twisting. By crazy twisting, I am not meaning a slight creep, but where the peep suddenly won't align hardly at all and after you do get it mostly aligned for...

    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

Thanks... Good insight and advice. I really appreciate it. I am using Ethics inserts. I shouldn't have this problem then, correct? Btw, I am curious about the hot melt glue vs. super glue vs. epoxy. I was going to epoxy mine in, but saw a video by AJA where he used hot melt. Aside from the...

    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

    You mean 1 gr doesn't equate to 1" at 100 yards? I thought arrows were MOA'able??? :)

    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

The variance that most contributed to this was the arrow weights - not the components. They remarkably were very close in weights. Like always .1 - .2 gr differences across most all of the lot.

    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

Ha ha... I just wrote that myself in my last reply (about weights not mattering). But... I do have to wonder if the weight varies that means that the total material differs in the arrows and that should mean the spine varies too (since there is some correlation between spine and material)...

    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

I did... I kept the original (hand cut) spreadsheet and repeated the same process in a new spreadsheet with the new cut... I think there are several things you can draw as conclusions: 1. Arrow weights vary even when cut close to perfect... Which means in spite of .001 straightness, the overall...

    Interesting finding - Arrow Builds

Just wanted to pass this along... I am building some arrows with Easton Axis 5mm (.001s). When I first cut them I cut them by hand with one of those harbor freight small chop saws. I noticed some noticeable variance in length (probably max 1/4"). I am trying to be meticulous, so I weighed out...

    Too much bullet?

Really?? Boy the moral, self righteous lectures continue... Ok buddy... Let's dissect your statement vs the facts... 1. "You have not dissected the gun" - WRONG - I have dissected the gun, but not the zero. I have checked all screws, the bore alignment with scope (at close range indoor), and...

    Too much bullet?

No loose screws... No dead deer... Two of us went back in for nearly 6 hours and scoured the 6'ish acre patch that the 30 yard deer (actually all of them) should have died or left some signs in. We also saw no buzzards or other signs of dead life. Haven't had a chance to re-check the zero...

    Too much bullet?

Thanks but what I have found is that from the very first post I posted here on RS that there was a lot of drive by answers just wanting to pick a fight or find flaw. So at this point in time I am just blunt in my responses and punch back to those who decide to fail to read (or just plain ignore)...

    Backstop and Targets - DIY

Before someone flames me with "read the posts in the forum"... I have - at least the ones that came up with search terms I typed in. If I missed any I fReAkInG aPoLoGiZe... :) Here is my need... 1. Want to shoot indoor safely and I don't have any "brick walls" to make it safe like some of the...

    Too much bullet?

OMG... [Note I am quoting you AZ_Hunter but not picking just on you. Actually thank you for the non gun preaching part] Ok guys... Let me check the gun "preaching" here. 1. I build guns. I know guns. 2. I check my guns ALL THE DAMN time (scopes, mounts, etc). 3. A sighted in gun doesn't not...

    Too much bullet?

I have as well, but honestly after the 30 (under) shot last night, I am having my doubts its (1) or (2). Both elk I have shot did not go far at all and it was an excellent killer. That said, most of the deer (especially does) around here are 100-120 lbs soaking wet - and very thin bodied. As...
