I thought about that. I think that might be a a touch too far away for us. I want to be able to leave straight from camp in the side-by-side if necessary.
I drew the 7W late rifle for elk. I've got no time to scout and will be arriving only a day or two early. It's just he way it is with young kids and living 20 hours away. Any suggestion, specific or general, on where to camp where I'd be close to Sitgreaves and Kendrick? I'd like to be fairly...
I totally respect that. I've heard too many stories and don't believe the creedmoor does that every time. . but if it does it for you I can't argue. Plenty of people wound elk with big 30's too. . so it depends on how all these stories/information is analyzed with regard to cartridge...
I have. I want a hunting rifle that I can shoot steel, for fun, and animals out to 1,000. I don't have those skills yet and may not ever try at an animal out to 1,000 but that's the idea.
I couldn't make up my mind on a lightweight rifle so I went for a long range and put the light weight rifle on hold for now. I ended up going with the Seekins PH2 in 7PRC. . . Well I put money down on it for the shop to hold it. It should be showing up in 5 days. I'm not sure if I'll regret the...
I ended up going with the Seekins PH2 in 7PRC. . . Well I put money down on it for the shop to hold it. It should be showing up in 5 days. I'm not sure if I'll regret the 26" barrel. I've never had a barrel that long.
I just put money down on a new Seekins PH2 in 7 PRC. I plan on this gun being my new long range gun. I started my search looking for a lightweight low recoiling gun and ended up here. . . so. . . I need a scope. I'm open to suggestions. Seems like the good ones run over $2k. I'd prefer for it...
This is where I'm leaning. I like the idea of the PRC but want a lightweight rifle that I can still shoot well. I'm not a recoil weenie but I still don't love it.
Well I just posted my dilemma on a separate thread. My questions, is the FPS upgrade worth increase recoil of a 6.5 PRC from a 6.5 creedmoor in 21" barrel. It appears I'd only be gaining about 120-ish fps. but increasing recoil by 30%. In a light weight rifle I want shootability to be towards...
My question is if you are at 20 - 21" in barrel length how much are you really gaining in fps going from a 6.5 creedmoor to a 6.5 PRC. It only appears to be just over 100 fps which can be the difference in the variety of powders available for a given bullet and cartridge sometimes. . Thoughts...
Nice bull! How would you rate the recoil on this? I'm still hesitating on the 6.5 PRC because I want something that's a sweetheart to shoot and I feel like I want something that recoils noticeably less than, say a 30'06.
Also, what bullet are you using to hunt elk with in the 6.5 PRC.?
