Interesting new riser material made from Magnite.
Seeing as they’re an Iowa company now I’ll give them a look, I imagine it’d be worth the drive up to Decorah.
I do love the bottomlands camo, glad they brought it back. Shot my first buck ever wearing that, some nostalgia there.
I noticed that my phone for some reason blurred out some of the edges- I was pretty chilly & must have pushed some sort of filter on the dang camera... oh well
Not that it's overly important, but for those that care he ended up going 164" on the dot. I believe that's my best scoring buck...
Took Nov 3-13th off for my rut vacation. It had been a fairly slow season with moving during opening weekend but I was excited to get out after some bucks, especially cause of my heartbreaker from last year.
Headed down to my buddies farm @ 3 in the morning Friday to spend possibly the weekend...
I should say this is my first guided hunt, and my first trip North. Also I’ll be bowhunting.
Dry bags is a great idea, and again I’m a complete noob to this type of hunt so everything helps!
I’ll also check out the prior thread!
Hey all,
in the early stages of planning a trip to NWT/Yukon/AK and am trying to read all that I can.
Wondering if those that have went could post up their gear lists. I am going to head to Sheep Show at least for a couple of days and plan to speak to as many outfitters as I can to get a...
Makes sense. I wouldn’t necessarily need that piece to be super warm, when it’s real cold I’ll have it under my Fanatic anyway.
May put the Kenai over the top of one of their strongfleece layers when it’s super cold
I did see the Kenai setup from KUIU, that one's interesting as well. Should function better as an outer layer when it isnt as cold & can layer over the top when it does get nasty here
Hey all,
looking for a combo piece that I can layer over during whitetail season, as well as get some dual use out of as a camp piece as glassing option when I head west.
Wondering if the Superdown Pro would be quiet enough when layered underneath my Sitka Fanatic piece when whitetail bow hunting?
Really interested in this setup.
I need something that can be standalone in milder temps, or go underneath my Fanatic setup when it gets cold here in Iowa.
Would this fit the bill or too hot you think?
I agree with ya-it’s kind of like the mantra for my Iowa Hawkeyes: hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
I am blessed to be good at my job, however since I don’t have a degree I’ll always have that chip on my shoulder since some like to flaunt their degrees at me.
My high...
College is an overrated waste of $ if you aren’t going to be a doctor/lawyer/specific type of engineer (imo).
I did a semester @ a community college (learned how to drink beer more efficiently) then gave up and just went to work.
Every single person in my position in the company I work for has...
I’d have to disagree especially regarding the mortgage aspect. You get no prizes for not having a mortgage, and still have to pay property tax in perpetuity.
If someone is going sheep hunting to look cool on IG, or to keep up with the joneses then yes that’s stupid.
I know as a fact my wife...
I’m going to be heading to NWT after a Dall in likely ‘25. Saving up now and starting my research into outfitters.
My justification-I’ve watched my Dad bust his @ss selling & moving tires 5/6 days a week & 8-10 hours a day, all the while wishing that he could go on an elk hunt, or a remote...
Yeah that makes sense. I honestly just don’t have the experience for a DIY deal, nor do I have friends that would be willing to go on this type of adventure hunt or else I’d seriously consider DIY
I need some assistance, my wife finally graduates from nursing school this December-opening up availability for me to start going on some adventure hunts.
Hoping for a combo AK Yukon moose & caribou hunt, not including the cost of flights or taxidermy I’d like to be at $25k or under.
Ideally...
