Shorty 6.5 creed with a 1-7 twist is less rpm than a 24" 6.5 prc with a 1-8. I'd be curious to see the differences at same impact velocity with the same bullet. Even a 1-7.5 prc.
So I have a question for @Formidilosus and others who have a wealth of knowledge on this subject...
Does increased bullet rpm have any effect on terminal ballistics? I feel like if a bullet tumbles in game you probably wouldn't want to spin it faster but a bullet that doesn't tumble it seems...
@Formidilosus what's your thoughts on a double or triple pull cyke pod? I feel like there could definitely be uses for it out in the wild but I don't hunt as much as you. I know for field/hunting style competitions they come in pretty handy on some stages and I primarily run a harris for...
The fact that people get so caught up in what the military uses but then they turn around and say the government can't make good decisions/they don't trust them is wild to me.
If everyone had to work with or near the government for a few weeks or years you wouldn't be putting faith in their...
I have boxes of eldm 6.5 creed from 2017ish with price stickers that were 26.99. I just ordered 12 more boxes for this month that I paid just over $32 a box for. While I know it doesn't take $32 to produce that box of ammo you really can't find any ammo cheaper that's of equal quality.
Years back cci had stingers or something like that with segmented bullets. There was a substantial difference in ability to dispatch game. Not sure if they are still made though.
6.5 creed is still very common...
None of the prc's are going anywhere, and if they do who cares? I'll shoot the cartridge that replaces them. The shooting community is so tradition based they get mad when company's stop supporting decades old rounds when they have new rounds that outperform...
Don't forget Harleys, big trucks and beer. Drink any mixed drink at any time and you are automatically less manly. Drive a car to work to save money for hunting? Less manly. Ride a Japanese or Austrian motorcycle? Less manly.
The list goes on. It's so dumb.
I think its more that people take game in large amounts with 223 6mm 6.5mm 25 cal etc and then people get online and try to tell others they need 30 cal to be effective on game. Small calibers won't work. So then the small caliber shooters say yeah they work fine I do it every year and then the...
