Pnuma makes an awesome heavy puffy. A cheap option is the browning super puffy parka - I have worn mine in alaska for two Moose hunts and it has been awesome. It has a windproof/water resistant shell that is fire. Its on clearance at optics planet right now.
I have spent a lot of time behind mine bear and elk hunting and never noticed any kidney beaning. I don’t wear eye glasses, so maybe it would be an issue if you did.
I have gone to benchmades with S30v or S90v. I can skin and quarter/debone an entire elk without feeling I need a touch up. With their lifesharp program, I haven’t needed to sharpen a knife in years.
I do have an outdoor edge replaceable blade knife. I have never had a blade break on them...
Worth a read. Bullet is more important than cartridge. Some would consider a 243 overkill for bull elk. If I could only keep one rifle for all my big game hunting including elk and moose it would be my 6mm CM...
Looking for a Nissan Frontier or Toyota Tacoma. 4x4. 4 or 6 cyl doesnt matter. Single cab, double cab, crew cab etc Would like 2015 or newer and less than 100k miles. Would like to be close to $20k, but that isnt a hard limit. Have cash and am willing to fly wherever I need to pick it up...
All my varmint/coyote rifles have 5-20 or 5-25 power scopes on them. My 223 has a tenmile 5-25, 6 ARC has a trijicon 5-20 and my 6 CM has a nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56.
That’s what I said too. Its tough…all their friends communicate with social media. We did good until our kids got to high school, sports teams, teachers etc all communicated via some sort of social media app. For example, the entire baseball team communicated with snap chat. Son was the only...
My group has a couple of them. For whatever reason, the finish/cerakote seems to wear off on them easily. Some of us went all in on the SBE IIIs without doing research and they are awful guns. The flaw in the stock resulting in wonky poi is real. A lot of us have gone to the Franchi 3.5s. If...
Interesting. I just got back from 2 weeks in Alaska moose hunting. My buddy had 10x42 UHDs and I had my 8x33 Kowas. We could both see much more detail when it came to counting points and brow tines etc in the Kowas.
They are phenomenal. I traded for some 10.5x44s and after comparing them to some NL Pures picked up the 8x33s. Maybe my eyes are crazy, but they were every bit as good optically as the NL Pures, just had a narrower FOV. How are these not the best binos on the market considering their price...
Several years ago their QC process was weak. They brought barrel manufacturing in house and it has gotten better. I own several CA rifles and they are all shooters.
