Got a couple hunts in my elites. Fit is great. Lacing system is very nice. I can adjust the upper or lower part of mynlacing depending on what I plan to do for that day. Quality on the boots is impressive. Only concern is I think the tongue may leak a bit. Let James know and he said a new pair...
He’s wearing Sitka gear. His buddy with all the Kuiu wounded and lost his bear actually. That’s me with the Kuiu coat (it was free) poking the dead bear.
Fun hunt with a couple clients. Figure some pictures would be fun.
We shot this bear with a 300 short mag, as there was no 6.5 creed around....haha

Or you’ll never do it again. Lol I’m one of those guys that has zero desire to shoot a ram but I get all my Sheep kicks in watching other Sheep hunters fulfill dreams. They just don’t do it for me as a personal target. Brown bears on the other hand....hmmm mmmm good.
Never had a bow hunter for Sheep. Had a guy miss 11
Times at one ram then go home. Maybe five guys quit because of not being in shape, weather was frustrating, etc.
But with out the exceptions of generalization exceptions we have the guidelines based off exceptions and the generalized guidelines based off rules And there guidelines.
I’m about 70%. There have been very few missed opportunities.
This is only from my experience on dall sheep in the drainages I work in Alaska over 20 years. .
I don’t think there are exceptions to generalizations. Lol
I’ve capitalized the generalizations to help keep folks from confusing my experiences with fact.
I don’t know how many sheep and goat hunts I’ve been. Only lost animal was goats. One was archery wounded twice and walked off where we couldn’t go. Other was shot and fell in a unrecoverable...
The beauty of Sheep fever is most sheep are stupid. Once you’ve beat a Sheeps eyes they are unimpressive. I’ve never had a sheep run off after a miss. Even poorly hit Sheep basicly give up most times. Stick with it and calm Down on that second shot, most times where I am you seem to get second...
Sheep success rates are touchy. I remember back around 2000, I had seen over 50 rams the fall before in one week. I was jacked for the next season. Next season I saw three total sheep. A banana horn and a ewe and lamb. That was it. Holy let down. One bad winter set the whole program right back...
I believe av gas (plane fuel) was just around a dollar in the early 80’s and is over 4 dollars on the road systems now, Bush fuel closer to 7 or 8 a gallon. I’m not positive. Just going off what the pilots have said.
I’ll check with some guys and see.

Man I wish it was that simple. I’d bet insurance, permits, licensing and charter rates haven’t increased at the same rate as inflation has. Crud they probably didn’t even have to have insurance back then lol
