"Kidney beaning" is simply an eye relief/placement issue. The Conquest HD is well known for it's terrible eyecup design which is why Zeiss will (at least they used to) send you a free pair of extended eyecups if you asked. IME this blackout "problem" is most prevalent in 8x32 class binos.
I haven't hunted that property specifically, but grew up in W TX and hunted muleys all over the Trans-Pecos since 1971. My first bit of advice would be use the best binocs (8 or 10x) you can afford, get some elevation, and glass your butt off. Doesn't hurt to know where water holes are...
Good to hear. I have one as well that's been great on a 7mm-08. Then again, my two Arken's and a couple of Leupold's have too. They all ride around in a Ranger, my truck, and four-wheeler.
You'd think after "decades" of building rifles, testing bullets, etc you wouldn't say something as stupid as "speed kills" and expect everyone to believe it.
Because when using high end glass, the "best" is always subjective. For instance, I found the 8x32 UHD superior to the Genesis 8x33, and IMO the NL's stand alone as the best hunting binocular known to mankind. Ergonomics play a big factor as well. That's why I always say you've got to try...
