I have a stack of Nomar cases. Not cheap but they are bomb proof. And outside of a hard case they still protect my gear. Waterproof, float. Anything I travel with regularly has a Nomar.
I had cables made to run power from my battery to the bed of my truck. Beautiful workmanship and reasonably priced. Just google battery cables or i can go find the link if interested. Turned into a very clean install.
If you want to try a double, buy whatever fits you best. Used. Cheap.
If you don't like it, dump it. I love my sxs, but I shoot my ou better. And I hunt the sxs about 10:1 to the ou.

I pulled 5000 pounds with a Honda pilot for years. Lugged a little on the hills but never an issue. If you're not climbing mountains you should be okay. That being said, channel your inner Tim Taylor
No bird dog. Just me, a quad for exploring and a good pair of boots. I'll definitely be bringing fishing gear. Birds and small game are the focus, with fish and general wandering. If I can find places where the cell signal completely goes to shit, that's even better. 😁
