Ok, check me out guys. Finally got to try these out.
44, 44.5, 45, 45.3 (book max) & 45.6, CCI-200, seated to 2.216" CBTO or about 2.835". No heavy bolt lift, all cycled perfectly fine. Rifle is 20" CTR. I have found that this CTR doesn't show pressure like mt T3 lite. My Varget load for...
The difference is the hx is moa and thr other is mil.
No like it a lot. Light for it's size, tracks good so for. Glass is very good. I ended up finding it here for sale for about $800 if I remember.
Nice. Now that the hurricane has passed, the local range will open back up Tuesday. I have some loaded to check for pressure. Book max is 45.3, have one loaded just pass max at 45.6. Best of all, no crunch like varget. Well soon see. I have 1lb, but if it shoots well I'll pick up a few lbs...
I am by no means an expert but do understand, so I think, of how seating depth effects pressure.
So please correct me if any of this sounds waaaayyyy off.
1) a bullet close or into the lands, depending on if close to max load, can and will produce pressure signs. Bullet doesn't get a running...
Yeah I'm was gonna try the 8208xbr this week but now it looks like I'll get hit with this tropical storm in the gulf and tons of rain. I'll just have to see if weather allows.
It's actually very easy to do. The bottom of the mag has a removable floorplate. Remove the floorplate and pull the spring and guts out the bottom. I used a chainsaw file and Dremel with carbide burr bit.
1) stack 2 rounds in the mag and mark on the with a sharpie where the tips are. Then...
you beat me to it. Except I still have mine. Those older abolts like the older 700's were fine shooting rifles. I really think browning screwed the pooch with the AB3.
I considered this a while back. But even with all my Tikka's and Rem 700's, this 1994 Abolt II medallion is still the most accurate rifle I own. I had never played with the Boss system before until just this past year. I thought it shot well until I started loading for it.
Another thing...
I kept stock barrel length, had it threaded 9/16x24 and installed a MBM super baby beast. Shoots like a 243 now.
Have changed out the scope and rings, but the Brake is nice.
I'm looking to see if I can get a little more velocity out of my 20" CTR 308. Currently I'm using 155 scenar, 47.5g Varget, CCI-200, R-P brass, 2.810", 2840fps avg. This load shoots very well but is also a good bit compressed. I do however have 1lb of 8208xbr left and after talking to the...
Exactly !!!
1994 Browning Abolt II Medallion 7 mag with Boss system with the old 1:9.5 twist. Still the queen of my safe. I do have several Tikkas that shoot very well also, but this old baby still shoots great.
IMO, the Tikka stock is very nice compared to some other tupperware stocks. Put a limbsaver on it and a Victor cheek riser and spend all that money you were gonna spend, on ammo and gear. But thats just me.
I wonder what they do on game? The scenars are proven to kill deer. elk, moose, you name it on the 40+ page thread of "Deceased by Scenar" on another site.
The advertised BC:
155 TMK - .519
155 Scenar - .460
155 Berger - .464
The scenars print nice tiny holes in both my 308's. I wonder if...
It did, went quick. And also $110 shipped. If stores are starting to get some in, I'll bet the local shop will be getting some soon. Has all sorts of items. I just can't see paying that much for powder.
I run the 155's in both my T3 and CTR 308. I have been looking for the 150's for my 7 mag since around February of this year and found nothing. Plenty of 180's but my 9.5 twist will have some issues, so I'm told from others experiences. Is there any particular place that you're finding these...
