Interesting. Well I’ve never tried seating a primer in a dirty pocket. I guess I’ll see what happens.
I was shooting in the rain this weekend so I actually threw my muddy cases in a case tumbler with corn cob median. Two primers fell out just with that, so I figured it was a good time to throw...
What is your recommended cleaning method for primer pockets. Some of my 6.5cm brass is on there 17th reload and 4 out of 12 pockets are getting really loose. Also at what point would you recommend just throwing away that brass. I currently use a wire primer pocket brush in a drill.
I had an archery deer tag in a unit where the alpine all dried out right before archery season. All the bachelor herds left the high country and went into the beetle kill where there was an understory of green forage everywhere. Hunting that kind of timber with a bow is pretty comical in my...
Wow. I would definitely refer that to your trusted medical professional. You must already be having issues if you have that diagnosis at your age.
Long term health and prolonged healthy activities would be my personal priority over man packing an elk out.
I don’t always debone especially if I’m in a hurry.
I always leapfrog. Usually work late through the first night getting everything off the kill site and returning repeatedly to the same spot in the dark is easier if it’s a shorter walk. Also the shorter duration the kill site is left...
First lite clips were painful with a pack. I’ve previously posted try Perry Ubee side belt suspenders

I don’t understand your question. If you’re pulling the Velcro apart to remove an attached pouch it sounds like Velcro being pulled apart. Why would you remove a pouch in the middle of a hunt? It doesn’t make noise when you open the pouch or remove something from inside the pouch if that’s...
I have the new bino case and two range finder cases on either side. One handed operation is easy peasy. The Velcro doesn’t make any noise unless you’re taking pockets off the harness. It’s definitely not cool on a hot day but it’s better than a plate carrier so I’m not complaining
The problem is you can’t protect everything. This happened during the day while I was out hunting, Western Mountaineering fixed my sleeping bag but it wasn’t free:
“Western WY. Places in CO. ID no problem.”
The OP asked general unit. What the heck is a “general unit”?
I don’t know any units in my part of CO that aren’t taking a couple years to draw and some late seasons are taking a decade plus.
I tried the first lite suspenders, but I’m a backpack hunter and couldn’t find a comfortable adaptation under a pack. Trying to deal with those clips on a cold day was a real challenge. I finally tried the Perry side hook suspenders I wear at work. They have no issues with my pack belt and...
Someday you all will be talking about the points I burn on an antelope tag. I really don’t want to hunt them but I keep getting a pp for when I can’t hunt elk anymore.
