3 wolves at about 30 yards, as they walked right towards us on the forest trail.
They didn't even us even as we were downwind and with me whispering over my shoulder to my buddies "wolf ! wolf!".
Once my brain registered that a pack of wolves was walking towards us totally unawares, I figured...
Hi All,
I really loved these but just haven’t been using them as I’ve focused on archery season.
Single owner
Serial number says Mfr in 2019
Outdoorsman Stud installed
Outdoor Vision Bino harness (tan) included

Never had any issues

My experience with the GMX, which was perfect on a cow elk at 400yds.
Think they have modified it to the CX now which I haven’t used.

I’ve gone back-and-forth on this and basically settled that for about the same weight as a Bora, Bivy and DCF tarp, I can use a tarp tent protrail li.
Everyone is different, but clearly the advantage of the Bivy is rollout and sleep wherever you want, saving time.
I’ve tried other one person...

Has anyone tried the XXL and if so how does it fit?
I’m 6’, 205lbs, broad shoulders/chest
The XL just arrived with the body fitting well, but the sleeves about an inch or so shorter than my normal
XL midlayer/light jackets.
Anyone washed theirs and if so did it shrink?
Sweet! Definitely do the initial burn before you go out. Mine had what looked like a bunch of sealant or glue or something fizzle out of seams and burn off.
I hear you guys and listening to so many other people I’m always amazed at how much they can hike with a mid layer on, whether fleece or other.
Personally, from years of experience I know my body just gets way too hot and sweats. Even the naked polartech alpha 60 I sweat easily in when no wind...
Ps- At the Arrowhead jackets back in production ??
Sure looks new and they’re talking about a new color too. Let me add to the cart but haven’t had a chance to call and confirm, but seems open for biz.

Thanks. Looks like the Arrowhead is 90g insulation (vs Ambient 100) with a slightly thicker shell than the Ambient of 30denier v 20d.
How durable does the arrowhead shell seem as it sounds like you e done some bushwhacking in it?
Thx
Thanks, I’ve actually been trying that this year. I do like it as the air passes right through it when no shell on. However, when I tried wearing it for a pre-dawn hike in this spring I still got too hot.
It was super mild too before I had to take it off, at just 200ft elevation and half a...
I have just had the FL Klamath grid fleece up until now but so rarely wear it under my bino harness if moving at all, as I get too hot.
Considering one of the active jackets that allows front and pit zips ideally as I’ve found those most helpful for dumping heat during mild hiking then can zip...
Hi Mike,
After running the ambient, what’s your go-to midlayer now?
I get so hot when moving that I very rarely use my grid fleece under my bino harness, as can’t regulate temps. Seriously considering finally getting an alpha direct jacket with full front zip.
Have you ever tried adding out...
Hi All,
Does anyone know of a jacket like this?
As soon as I get moving, I run very hot, so would love to have the option of pit zips in an ambient style jacket. It’s always a game changer when I open them in my rain jacket if I’m using it as a windbreaker.
Thanks

Hi All,
For those who pulled the trigger on the new Kowa 55, now that you've got scouting and some of the hunting season under your belt with it, what are your thoughts?
What are you coming from as a spotter?
Is the wider field of view in real life a game changer to broaden its usability or...

When I tried 5 different factory loads there was a huge difference in grouping, of about 3/4" to 1.5" at 100yds.
I have factory loads that work amazing in one of my calibers but not in the other. The two main hunting rifles I have ended up with Federal Terminal Ascent and the other...
Yes, works great for normal lighting in Bundok. As mentioned earlier, it's not a quick on/off or super bright, but for that I just have the small led lantern, small flashlight or headlamp.
The total length of the light string/cord is 100", and simply has a USB B male on one end that plugs...
