Great video, but I didn't enjoy it one bit! Yeah, I hated it. It gave me the fever bad. I leave a month from yesterday so you just made the wait soo much worse. jerk! (just kidding of course, I loved it!).
My Schnees Beartooth are circa 2008, so I guess this will be year 15. I average 40-45 days per year in them elk, antelope, whitetail, duck, turkey, and pheasant hunting. They are still going strong and waterproof. But I do take good care of the leather. I won't even hesitate to buy another pair.
We never spend time other than for the intended purpose of the trip (hunting). No way would I trade a day sightseeing for a day hunting. But I do research the history of the area before I go.
Schnees Beartooth is my favorite. Absolutely love them. I get a pair about every 8 years of tough love. Lots of miles in the mountains and also on the plains. Pheasant hunting can be surprisingly hard on boots with every step in vegetation.
I think one thing is different feet fit better in...
How do you search to see if your profile is on another forum?
Also it would be nice to switch from defense to offense. Maybe we should all post a few WTB ads and scam the scammers!!
I want to buy some ammo and am scared to death of buying from anyone other than a well known retailer.
Brother and I drew with 0. If someone could point us to a good place to go that would be great! Never hunted elk before and never been to MT. Not looking for honey holes, but just a general area.......Nah, just kidding. We have our spot. This was a joke. REPEAT this was a joke!
This is...
I think it really builds character, especially in kids, to be uncomfortable. I have had many people ask me about elk hunting because they know that is my passion. I often ask them if they can handle being uncomfortable for a week or more. Too hot, too cold, tired, in pain, exhausted, hungry...
I have small game, fishing, and firearms deer in MN. All my kids (3) have them as well. One son has archery deer. I have one son that needs archery deer and then we are all set.
I look at it that it may make the difference between my kids coming back to hunt/fish if they move out of state.
No big deal. Had it done and it was not something to worry about.
I will add one little thing about your recovery time. Be careful and deliberate going down stairs for the first week or so. Soooo very important to have tight support of the "almonds" as when you go down stairs, your foot...
I don't think manufacturers will come down in price. They may slap on an incentive/rebate from time to time, but I think the price will remain the same or increase annually. There may be some price decreases on the dealer side.
I have two of the Vortex bino harnesses. If you put a rag in the bottom so the binocs force the cover to close harder and stretch the cordage, they work better!
First, congrats on a great experience.
As awesome as that experience was, the world needs more hunters like you. You first called the Ranger to make sure it was legal. Very impressive. Then, you thank everyone who has commented on this thread. Very good manners. Your parents taught you well.
