If you read much here you’re going to hear the Trijicon. I have the Maven and the Swaro, no issues with either. When I buy another one it will be a Swaro, I’d hit up Doug.
There’s also the Leupold VX3 2.5-8 in that weight range, I’d put it right there with the Maven. My wife has one on her...
I agree, you have solid coverage with those 2, love my 7-08!
But that’s not why we’re here…. Are you thinking go bigger or something to shoot targets with?
If you want to use your discount - I’d pick up a viper 2.5-10x44. Just fine for an all around scope and you won’t be dialing at 300.
If you want to maximize that budget I’d hit up Doug at cameraland and pick up one of their open box Swaro z3’s 3-10x42. You can’t get better glass for that...
I’ve been shooting factory Barnes (120 ttsx) out of mine, it didn’t care for the eldx loads. I’d be happy to try some 140 accubonds but they’re hard to come by!
I don’t hand load and have always had exceptional luck with Barnes, except for my 308. Would not shoot 150s or 168s, may still try to track down some of the 130s just to see. I messed up and bought 3 boxes of the 150s when I found them so now I’ll have to deal with getting rid of them
The first time we sat down and did a written budget was eye opening, you’d be amazed at what gets blown on food (groceries and restaurants). We do restaurant money in cash each month, that doesn’t get mixed in with the groceries.
We solved the other issue (junk listed above) with personal...
Just trying to help, you didn’t list a budget. People are readily dropping $500-600 for a beast stand or lone wolf custom gear hang on, then half that again for climbing sticks
