I'd buy one with those specs and once reliability testing has been conducted and results shared. After the first season with it I'd buy one or two per year for a few years depending on pricing and availability.
I'd also be interested in a fixed 6x or 8x.
Cool project! Looks like fun to model, scan and hit the print button.
I think there would be a market for more 3rd party grip options beyond the couple that Tikka offers.
I'm looking forward to your recoil pad solution.
Good choice, I've been impressed with my Leica RF binos. Which Geovid model are you looking for? R, Pro, or 3200.com? 8x32, 10x42 or 15x56?
I got the Geovid R 10x42s earlier this year and they have been really solid. I posted some thoughts on them and a few pictures recently here.
@SouthPaw...
There's one in the classifieds, no affiliation, but I did comment on @SouthPaw's post because I've become such a fan of those Leica's: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/leica-geovid-r-10x42-outdoorsmans-bino-hand.373170/#post-3791533
Yes, absolutely! I've been impressed with the quality and clarity. I've ranged out past 2000 yards consistently, and everything in between. The EHR angle correction displays quickly, a feature that my old standalone rangefinder didn't have at all. RF binos enable an improved process for finding...
When I asked Stone Glacier what size of Sentinal to get for my Geovid R's they said Large. It's been working really well for me. Not sure how regular would compare.
Since then I have added a Wiser Precision BA-7 Sparrow arca rail, which is very low profile and fits in the large size without...
GLWS, if I didn't already have a pair of these I would buy them from you. I've been enjoying my Geovid R all summer, have found a lot of animals with them and have ranged out past 2000 yards. Huge upgrade from my old standalone range finder!
Stainless or blued? I hunt in the Pacific North Wet and so I'm only interested in stainless. More to protect the bore than the exterior. Some of Tikka's new 16" threaded models have been so close, so far away since they aren't stainless.
Edited to add: I missed the link, but see now that it's...
The drop tests provide a fairly repeatable standard, not a guarantee that nothing will shift or need to be tested in the field. There are worse falls and impacts out there than 18" and 36" drops on select surfaces and it looks like this scope took one of those hard direct hits.
You could set up a Henry Long Ranger to be a modern version of Teddy Roosevelt's Winchester 1894 that he suppressed with a Maxim Silencer. He was ahead of his time in so many ways...
I think you'll really like it. I have two slik slings and the newer one has upgraded hardware and is even better than the previous version. They are continuing to innovate and improve their product which says a lot.
I haven't seen that. Do you have a link or was it in one of Jay's podcasts? What were Jay's claims regarding the methodology? I can appreciate how agreeing with free comparison testing does seem like a conflict of interest for his business model...
The 2024 Silencer Summit Sound Test Results have been posted! TBAC hosted the event last week and they have already published the data:

There are many new cans this year and they also added 22LR as a new category, something that I asked TBAC and...
