For guys asking about the RX6, Hoyt seems to skip a number when they redesign the riser. They skipped RX2 and now skipped RX6 and both times were when they redesigned the riser. Could just be a coincidence, but maybe it's on purpose, idk
Thanks for the replies. I pulled the trigger on the Fanatic set. Got the bibs and jacket on sale right now for ~$600 all in, which seems like a pretty solid deal.
Supposed to be in the low 20s near me this weekend so hopefully it's here by then so I can test it out.
How are you layering the Fanatic in the 20s? I'm looking for a new colder weather set, say 15-35, and am kinda torn between Fanatic and FL Sanctuary. My concern is the Sanctuary might be too warm in the 20s and low 30s, especially the days when it starts below 30 but might get into the mid 40s...
I've been using FMJ's the past two years. I don't use the BAR and have run into issues with mushrooming on the front of the shaft when practicing with broadheads in a foam target, including whitetail specials, so if you do go the FMJ route I would think you would want the BAR. Some guys also use...
This is my first season using a saddle, but so far I've gotten away with more movement than I've ever been able to while using a climber or hang on.
I think this is due to (1) less noise compared to standing up or moving in the climber, where you're rubbing the tree or stand, (2) as "woods"...
Hey guys,
Does anyone have any tips for me on sharpening the GK SilverFlames? I was given a few heads by a friend and after practicing and tuning with a couple of them, I'm struggling to get them sharpened back up. I don't have much experience with premium heads, but when new these might have...
I was someone who could shoot great with an index release on targets, but after punching the trigger on two deer last fall and making marginal shots (both went down quick but I wasn't happy with how far from my aiming point I was missing and the fact that my shot routine completely fell apart...
Not as up-to-date on specific models, but for bowhunting I would highly recommend getting a unit with a red display. Makes a world of difference in my opinion.
Agree with the above. Any changes in patterns or movement is likely due to a change in food, cover, security, etc. as a result of the snow and less to do with topography.
Was at the shop the other day and was discussing this with the tech since when I asked about the 250 spine shafts being lighter he was thrown off.
I ended up buying three 250 spine shafts to play with and so far have had great results. I was previously shooting 300 spine FMJs, but am looking...
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Things have gotten complicated in a good way haha.
We've got word that the group I work in might be WFH through the end of year and are supposed to find out in the next couple weeks. That would certainly change things as I might be able to swing a move out west...
John Eberhart's books would probably be a solid starting point. Lots of good info that can be applied to any hunting situation, but focuses on dealing with high pressure areas.
