    Welcome to Pyro Putty

Would this stuff work in place of trioxane in a camp stove setup? Or is it more just firestarter?

    What treestands

I love my X stand. 12lbs comfortable seat and can hike a long way with it on my back. Only complaint is it can be a little harder to climb than the traditional climbers...

Get into shape without the gym

Swim a mile everyday if you have water near you. Get a slackline for strengthening all the stability muscles... Run. I like my gym membership for the pool/sauna though.

450 Bushmaster for deer? Which one

I agree with Creed on this. Ruger with a Leopold CDS scope. Brother has one and it is a deer killing machine!

Mystery Ranch Guide light vs Guide Light MT

Looks like a pretty cool shop! Im eyeballing the Beartooth for the frame for a fathers day special sale. Yeah I like the metcalf bag for sure but might end up going with the Beartooth instead because of the frame. Thanks for the input! Its a tad bit heavier but fit is going to be more...

Yes I usually find I like semi miserable conditions and my tolerance for them is better than others. Now that being said most of y'all around this site seem to be pretty tough so time will tell to see if I live by you guys standards haha. That tents looks pretty nice. I've been swaying back...

    And It Begins! Pack Workout!

Oh wow. I hope you get feeling better! I hope I'm not in the same boat as my pain has come and gone many time over the years. I appreciate you taking time to come back and let me know. It does seem stiffer boots usually help. The Crispis look really nice. Good luck hunting!

Seems many people end up liking a tent better in the end. I can see why with all the options. I really envy the tipi with a stove! Seems like Paradise in the cold hiking back that! If you don't mind me asking what tent do you run? Cheers!

That SO DST looks pretty nice! With a Borah bivy or plain old floorless bug net might do the trick. I'm so used to a tent that I'll just have to give the bivy a try and see if it works. I'm usually dog tired after a hunt so I sleep like a baby. Looks like I'll go to 10x10 instead of 9x9. I also...

Mystery Ranch Guide light vs Guide Light MT

Rok and roll! I bought the Metcalf because I'd been eyeballing it for a while now. Everyone says it's the go to bag. I got a good deal on it but should have paid attention to the new bags and got a Beartooth instead. I'm hoping to swap it out for the Beartooth. I think I'll end up happy either...

Mystery Ranch Guide light vs Guide Light MT

I appreciate all your responses. Second night wearing the pack around house. Adjusted the yoke longer and wearing it slightly lower and it feels much better. Looks like i need to find a place to try the new belt. THBZN I appreciate the fitting advice. Haven't put weights in it yet as I might...

Mystery Ranch Guide light vs Guide Light MT

Hello all. I've spent some time trying to find info here and google on the Guide light vs Guide light MT frame without finding the difference in belts other than 5 piece vs single. My main concern is relative comfort under load as my lower back is not what it used to be. The Metcalf is my first...

    Holster on pack belt

I also have a 340pd with a pocket holster. What a great gun for hiking!

    Pistol caliber?

I run similar to elkduds. I've got a s&w340pd in 357 (it weighs 12oz!) and for urban carry a Glock 26. I really prefer the Glocks. I've been eyeballing a G19 as of late. The 340 takes getting used to. It kicks like a mule because it is so light.

Conceal carry holsters- what brand do you like?

T&W Maxx R holds my G26 better than other holsters I've found.
