Merino for me after years of synthetics...mostly for the "funk factor". Can't see switching back.
And, between the rain shell and the umbrella/decoy, I'm not really getting very wet on my elk hunts.
All I know is Rockie "called me in" at the NABA Show this year. Had a booth behind me, and ripped a bugle with the new Bully Bull tube...I couldn't help myself, I was drawn like a magnet to it. Never heard a call sound so good, but hey, he's Rockie ;)
Thanks Guys.
Here is the story as she told me by text:
"The other girls that fell out of the hike fell out before 10K, and they're walking fine now, and they rode in the van. They took my pack @15K but left me my weapon and flack jacket. They kept trying to get me to get in the van but I...
Update:
Holli called me this morning (in tears)...she didn't make the 20K.
She has been nursing a groin injury for the last 5 weeks. Didn't want to tell them about it.
They kept trying to get her to quit, she refused. The Sgt behind her told her "If I pass you, I'm going to rip that...
Wondering if they will toughen the weight standards, or go the other direction? My feeling is, they should have them all go a little above and beyond to qualify, and it should be a single standard for both men and women.
But, it would be good if they would adapt the gear such as the packs to...
Thanks everyone.
She is heading out to the field, gets to shoot the M27...she's really excited about it. She LOVES to shoot, and she is deadly accurate. Top female shooter in ITB so far.
20K is MONDAY!!!
Thanks Justin. Justin is one of the many Customers who have given testimonials on our web page, his story is very cool! :

Roksliders,
We finally received a new shipment of the Elk Mountain Timber Elk Decoy Slipcovers. This has been our number one selling decoy since 2010 (we sold out last Season).
The Timber Elk (Butt) Decoy has several advantages:
1. Visible for long distances through lanes in timber...
Another update:
Just got a phone call this AM...Holli finished the 15K!
She said it was tough, there were three different times when she was ready to break down, but she was able to mentally slap herself, and breathe through it.
3 1/2 weeks left to go. She said she thinks the 20K might be as...
Looks like old Fred didn't hesitate to show a little happiness in many of his pics.
Personally, I can't help but feel joy with all aspects of hunting, especially bowhunting.
If you make a bowkill, and you don't feel some type of elation...you are missing it IMHO!
I'm very pleased with these 125 grain Anarchy Heads...they fly beautifully (but I've only shot them out to 60 yds)...and you can't beat 'em for penetration and durability!

Haven't tried the cliff thing yet...but I did run over a SLIP System with my truck about 20 times (if you count retakes) here:

How many vertical feet we talking to qualify as a cliff? I'm up to the challenge! ;)
Thanks Everyone for following along. Sounds like you have great kids Dan!
Military is really a great way to start your adult life, and with a sense of pride and appreciation for our Freedom that is missing these days in our young people.
Holli posted this on my Birthday...she references...
She called me this morning...she made the 10K !
But they didn't stop there...according to her...they took them straight to an obstacle course that made the one in Basic Training look like a kid's play structure...she said it was huge! She blew through most of it except the rope climb, she...
