Have you considered not taking decoys? I honestly feel that they do more harm than good (unless you’re archery hunting).

From Michigan’s big game biologist:
“You'll likely see a lot of this coverage over the next couple of days/weeks. There was recently a study suggesting that two hunters who recently died from sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) may have contracted the disease from eating CWD positive...
I would go into the backcountry on my first elk hunt with more than 4-5 days off work lol
If you mean 4-5 days at spike camp, then back to the truck/base camp to recharge, no issue.
If it’s your first hunt, it’ll take 3-4 days to figure out what’s going on and then maybe you’ll have one or...
I would trust the financial advisor you’re working with as they should be fully aware of your situation and be giving you guidance based on such.

My input: you can expect every flat area to have heavy hunter and non-hunter camping traffic, especially in September.

10x14 Kodiak will be very, very tight with 2 adults and 2 kids (unless you have a double bunk cot for the kids). With the slanted walls, you have less room than the 10x14 footprint.
For situations like yours, I just bought an extra Kodiak 10x10 to use as our kitchen/gear storage and the 10x14...
