Has anyone used Gear Aid Camo Form nonadhesive camo tape, or something similar, to wrap and protect their spotter?
I have a Kowa TSN-774 inbound and I'm looking for a way to protect it from light abuse and dirt. I have the Kowa stay-on cover on my TSN-554, but I'm not too crazy about it. I'll...
I was a bit intrigued, and ready to jump for a 7-08, at less than 1,000 bucks. After reading some of these reviews, I've decided that I'm quite happy with my Montanas.

To measure COAL, from headstamp to bullet tip, just a set of calipers is needed. But as stated above, measuring from headstamp to bullet ogive is the more accurate method. This is due to the inconsistencies in bullet tips. I recommend having both, the headspace comparator and...
Yep. Wear em every year in the NE. They are warm...even when wet. They might be a bit heavy, but none of the new technologies have yet to equal wool. Might be too warm for Texas.
Glad I went when I did in 2000. One of the best hunting adventures I've been on. I believe the cost was $3,400 Montreal to Montreal including airfares, overnite in Kuujjuaq and 2 tags.
So sad what a major role greed played in this, though not surprising.
I'm not a big fan of tracking either, unless there's snow. For that reason I favor a high shoulder shot, to short circuit the brachial plexus. When so hit with a 120 TTSX, every whitetail, muley or antelope has fallin in their shadow. Curious to know where you're hitting them.
Thanks. It's not that important to me. I was just looking for this year to fill a hole left by a lack of a western tag. Part of that was my own doing. I'll pull a tag next year.
Good luck to you on the island.
I'm also firmly in the 7-08 camp. A Montana so chambered, and pushing 120 TTSXs, is my preferred rifle for everything.
At this point in the thread, I have nothing to add that wouldn't be redundant.
