    Montana Spring bear

I will be the first to admit I am not an experienced bear hunter but I've hunted deer for 45 years and elk for 25 years. Decided to give bear hunting a try this year. We first tried 10 miles north of Thompson Falls starting on the 13th. Did not find any bear scat on the timber roads. Glassed a...

Going scouting when you are using a guide?

Not trying to be negative, but if you only have a guide for two days, what do you think the chances are of them showing you their honey holes? And as some other guys have already mentioned, some of these guys aren't at the top of the gene pool. Some guides are awesome - but those guys usually...

PSA for anyone considering a move to Bozeman or who doesn’t believe it when long time residents say it sucks

If Bozeman sucks, Sparta Michigan is hell because I go to Bozeman for vacation and love it. And I'm a 55 year old guy that likes Hang Williams Junior and Cheap Trick......I wonder what people used to say about my curly mullet, leather jacket and pack of smokes when I was 16 years old.......fun...

308 Howa Superlite Factory Ammo Suggestions?

Hey guys, I have a 308 Howa Superlite coming in the mail and plan on bear hunting with it next month. Long term I'll probably work up handloads for it, but my garage isn't done being built yet, so my reloading stuff is still packed away. Does anyone have some factory ammo recommendations? Might...

stories of your first archery elk kill?

My buddy called me two weeks before it was time to go to Colorado and backed out. I had picked a place to hunt based on internet scouting and Google Earth. We were going to hunt in a wilderness area. I am comfortable hunting on my own, so my buddy backing out was not a show stopper for me. When...

Why are American branded trucks and most American branded vehicles so unreliable?

OH MAN! Now you are hitting me close to home! I drive a 2007 4WD with 167,000 miles on it. Uses 1/2 quart every 3500 miles. Just runs......I don't know if they do it anymore, but the Canton Mississippi Plant (where I used to work and where the last one rolled off the line in 2015) used to ask...

Why are American branded trucks and most American branded vehicles so unreliable?

No, your question is completely understandable. I don't take offense. Honestly - as an employee with a passion for quality, this is a thought for me as well. Keep in mind I'm one person out of a sea of executives and engineers. I don't know all of the details on every concern or JD Power...

Why are American branded trucks and most American branded vehicles so unreliable?

Thank you Sapcut. I don't profess to know every defect or recall situation but based on experience there are 3-4 things that can cause problematic vehicle issues. 1) A design with features that allow a product to fail. I know at Nissan we, (like most other OEM's) review the designs, test the...

Sorry but I can't just read the comments without adding my 2 cents. Full disclosure Nissan employee #110634. I was an Engineering Manager at the Nissan Canton Mississippi plant for 8 years where we make the Titan, Frontier and Altima. My last project before moving back to Michigan to care for my...

    Let’s hear some horror stories

My buddy and I have rented Llamas before and decided to rent one for a do it yourself archery elk hunt one year. We picked the Llama up from the rental company the night before we went in from the trailhead and stayed at our friends house in Pagosa Springs. We staked the Llama in their large...

Full disclosure. Nissan employee #110634. I used to work at the Nissan plant in Canton Mississippi as an engineering manager. Now I work remote back in Michigan. Toyota makes a great truck - no question. More mods than you can shake a stick at. I have nothing but good things to say about the...
