Sold Spott Hogg Fast Eddie single pin

Only used for about a week, decided I like at least a 3 pin sight. Missing the first sheet of sight tapes (very slow arrows). Also one of the little set screws for the little travel stop bracket is missing. Sight is immaculate, no scratches or anything. .019 pin diameter. Has both illumination...

    Awesome trail cam pictures?

Couple more cool ones that I got from a camera I let soak for the winter. I joke that the bull in the color picture certainly wasn’t missing any meals lol

    Thumb release

I like being able to just shove it in my pocket. Can grab rangefinder, bugle tube etc without the release slapping into a bunch of plastic

    Awesome trail cam pictures?

Couple pics of a dandy N Idaho bull moose. Cool thing was that right after bumping this guy from his bed right in front of the camera, I shot my bull elk about 100 yds further down the ridge.

Staball Match, or Varget for .308?

Having great accuracy with VV N150. Will be testing this coming weekend somewhat for temp sensitivity.

Which week to hunt (archery – 2024)

Whichever. As said already, equally good chance to kill something. How far out do you have to solidify your choice?

What's your lightest arrow for hunting?

This will be my lightest so far, right at 440 grains. I’m a pretty short draw also at 27.5”. 70 lbs, arrows are right at 270 fps. I have no qualms shooting either my grim reaper 3 blades or rage trypans at elk. I am also in brush country, so shots past 30 yds are a rarity.

    Where to move?

I’m in north Idaho, and know exactly what you mean. Through some luck and good timing, I wound up with 10 acres a few years back. My wife stays home with our 5 kids. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. That being said, if I was in the same position today, I’d be lucky to be able to afford a...

    Idaho Moose/Goat/Sheep draw results

Year 8 in a row for moose FAIL. Daughter didn’t draw either.

    Optimal bow performance

I’m sure some more knowledgeable than me will chime in, but here’s my .02 worth. Yes, bows are typically the most efficient at the top end of their poundage range. From everything I’ve read about the omnia, it’s a pretty speedy bow even at shorter draw lengths. Obviously running at only 60 lbs...

    Pin size .1 or .19?

I tried a .010 for my slider pin, and I just got thrown because I could see my own movement worse the further out I got. I shoot better with the thicker pin.

    Build me a hunting bow

Well being that I have T. rex arms I can’t give advice on a longer bow. But if I could go back in time and save myself some time/messing around, the components are it. *Nice fall away rest. Limb driven or cable, I’ve run both a QAD and Hamskea, neither has ever failed me. I like the limb driven...

Hha Tetra vs Black Gold Ascent Verdict

Have you always run a single pin? Not knocking the thought, just curious. I was sure I wanted a single pin fast Eddie last year. I quickly realized I didn’t like the idea of trying to adjust in a hurry, and went to a 3 pin ascent verdict. Less clutter than a 5 pin, but still able to shoot in a...

Elevation change to stop other hunters

As someone above said, just be conscious of the fact that if you do indeed kill, you have to get said bull out. I had a bull a couple years ago that was “only” 700’ vertically from the trail, but that was one of the most alder choked, steep, painful pack outs I ever hope to experience lol.

I can't take the time to aim.

This is what I did for about a month straight. I just focused on taking 10-15 shots per evening that I knew were slow and methodical. I was amazed at the difference the first time I shot at distance again.
